You are partly right on your observation of Adi Sankara's view on multiple god images. He re-emphasized on the ancient Vedic thought i.e, all-pervading, omni present, all powerful, formless Para Brahma (God).
Just like an infinite sky is explained by a picture of the sky, he saw the concept of God images as a finite form to explain the infinite God for the sake of those people who needed it.
Fully Sanskrit movie directed by late Ganapathi Venkatrama Iyer (G.V. Iyer) 1983 film. Funded by NFDC, GoI. Presidential award winning national archive movie.
It is in Sahyadri mountain range that is located in Karnataka, a state of India. Sringeri, a place which is part of this mountain range was one of the matha established by Adi Shankara.
This is a award winning Kannada film by Sri.GV Iyer who has did great research before making this movie and few others. He has always made very authentic movies but were appreciated by connoisseurs of good cinema. The actor is a bengali and lady who is serving is LV Sharada a national award winner
I am sorry about the previous reply. The lady who flashes in the middle is Shankara's biological mother. That's just to convey the idea that Shankara viewed the wife of Sureshwara(incarnation of Saraswathi) as his own mother.
Thank you very much , i have been searching for the sanskrit versiobn for so long . It is so much more powerful than the otherversions ,thanks . you are doing very good work God bless

She is goddess Sharada(Saraswathi) in human form. She has been portrayed as Annapoorni.

She is Shankaracharya's mother in this film, perhaps.
