Our school decided to stage this in March this year for their annual musical. At first, no one liked it. But as people began to listen to the soundtrack and to understand how funny it was, the school, afraid of the musical's title affecting their reputation, pulled the plug. Such a shame.

My high school had auditions for this play and I got two different parts and I know it's going to be amazing! I'm a UGC staff and Girl Cop #4. I love this song. My director has the stage set up kinda like the one in this video and we are going to to the same thing with the flashlights in some sort of way. Our play is showing March 15-17 and March 22-24

But what the hell are you guys doing with the lights? They're EVERYWHERE. Don't just shine lights everywhere because you have them. This scene takes place at night, why are you lighting the shit out of it? Keep it simple, my friends. This is very overdone. Dislike me if ya want, but it's true.

This was really good,but I kind of liked how my school used their flashlights...they did basically the same thing w/turning off the lights and everything,except when they returned to the faster pace singing,they ran around the audience and shone the flashlights on everyone,it was really cool.

this would have to be the best staging of this song i've found on here. not only are lockstock and barrel perfectly cast, there are some really clever ideas used like the line of torches and when the chorus first comes on, the choreo is really very clever and looks really effective and not just like a chorus line of girls doing something really out of character and over the top.

@wwmarlingrl W ALMOST had the same problem!! It's just because of the name, some people just make judgements without really knowing about something. My choir director had to do a presentation about it to the schoolboard to get it approved... we all hate our schoolboard. They're communists.

My school did this show this year.

Instead of the flashlight line, we had lights pop on from the bottom of the stage to illuminate them from the legs up, and had the victims they're talking about looking like they were being hanged by the cops. It was REALLY creepy.

That is so amazing! Were doing this show, and the flashlight part creeps me out so much. We kept the lights off all the way to the end, and it was a lot slower and more drawn out. I was squirming in my seat at the rehearsals. Great job!
