PoP 3D was released in 1999. Ico was released in 2001. This review would have taken place at the time of Ico's release - 2 years before Sands of Time came out.

Yes ok the review was a tad shit however I'm pretty sure he was referring to the original prince of persia which was a 2d cinematic platformer for all you noobies. I think the reviewer smoked too much pot though... He could've at least commented on good and bad issues instead of just being like "oh yeah this game is good and it reminds me of all these games" really in depth stuff.........

I believe he mentioned Prince of Persia because this game came out before the "Sands of Time Trilogy" that most people know about. POP's first 3D game came out for the Dreamcast and PC in 1999 and was terrible. Ico came out in 2001, two years before the Sands of Time.

In Ico, gameplay takes a backseat to the artistic aspects like the emotion and atmosphere. Those are what make Ico great, especially the emotion you can see in the characters and the emotion it invokes on the players, and all this dumbass could talk about is the basic mechanics. He made this game sounds like shit.

For me...yes until I find other games I like as well. I'm not saying that it's the only games I will ever like on the PS2. I'm just saying that those are the two games I think at the time is the only one (only for) the PS2 I actually like. Okami, GTA etc is great games as well but they're not exclusive for PS2.
