During this era 1985-2005 Patti was untouchable! I love her dearly....I just want to hear her in her mid range now and stop straining her vocal chords! She has nothing else to prove anymore! Her "Kiss away the pain" album was recorded in her mid range and she needs to go back to that range at her age!

No disrespect intended here, but Live is always better than studio versions of anything. I love All studio recording just about,but nothing compares to LIVE. That's why people come out to see LIVE shows. If your live shows turn out to be just like the record, then just get the record. I love this Live show from Patti.

Very, very, few singers or performers could keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end of their concerts but Patti does it effortlessly! That voice of hers reminds me of that ol' disco tune from back in the day, "Supernatural Thing". Ive seen Patti Labelle live so many times, Ive lost count. And the first time I ever saw her live, Lenny Harris and Tower of Power opened for her at the Kennedy Center in DC. They were on for an hour...Patti sang for 2 1/2 HOURS!!. I was 9 yrs old and I was never the same again

Links to Cindy Birdson's curent pions would be apreciated. She got the shot end of the stick. The Supemes have faded while Patti is still going strong.
@rayclarkpalmer The break-up of Labelle happened before the group fell completely apart. The women couldn't agree on musical directions, Patti wasn't getting along with the group's manager Vicki Wickham, and on top of that, Nona had a nervous breakdown during their last show. Patti said they were fighting like cats and dogs on the last tour and decided the group should separate to salvage their friendship. It wasn't like the Supremes at all.
Thanks for the clarification!!! I always wondered about their seperation. Now if I can't only find out the true story behind the breakup of Gladys Knight and the Pips. LOL They were all relatives so the decision to go thier seperate ways must have been much more traumatic.
@rayclarkpalmer It was much more simpler with Gladys and the Pips: the Pips wanted to retire. Gladys wanted to continue on. It was less traumatic than one would think plus being together for nearly 40 years I'm sure it was as mutual as Labelle's split was.

Thank you so much for posting this. I used to have it on VHS back in the day and have been looking for it in the DVD stores hoping to one day find it there waiting for me. I love Miss Patti. She truly is a force of nature with a voice almost as big as her soul. I have enjoyed her music for many years and may she give us many more years of enjoyment.

Very, very, few singers or performers could keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end of their concerts but Patti does it effortlessly! I've seen Patti in concert twice in my life and she gives every single song her heart and soul! This woman is one of the the BEST singers and live performers in history!

a singer's, singer...and a performers, performer. When she opens her mouth to sing, everything is alright with the world. That voice of hers reminds me of that ol' disco tune from back in the day, "Supernatural Thing". Ive seen Patti Labelle live so many times, Ive lost count. And the first time I ever saw her live, Lenny Harris and Tower of Power opened for her at the Kennedy Center in DC. They were on for an hour...Patti sang for 2 1/2 HOURS!!. I was 9 yrs old and I was never the same again

Yes, we all love Patti and Labell. can someone direct me to links about the break up? Was it a mutual understanding? Was it something like the Supremes? Links to Cindy Birdson's curent pions would be apreciated. She got the shot end of the stick. The Supemes have faded while Patti is still going strong.

@rayclarkpalmer The break-up of Labelle happened before the group fell completely apart. The women couldn't agree on musical directions, Patti wasn't getting along with the group's manager Vicki Wickham, and on top of that, Nona had a nervous breakdown during their last show. Patti said they were fighting like cats and dogs on the last tour and decided the group should separate to salvage their friendship. It wasn't like the Supremes at all.

Thanks for the clarification!!! I always wondered about their seperation. Now if I can't only find out the true story behind the breakup of Gladys Knight and the Pips. LOL They were all relatives so the decision to go thier seperate ways must have been much more traumatic.

@rayclarkpalmer It was much more simpler with Gladys and the Pips: the Pips wanted to retire. Gladys wanted to continue on. It was less traumatic than one would think plus being together for nearly 40 years I'm sure it was as mutual as Labelle's split was.
