I remember the first time I played this and I accidently killed Shadow because I didn't wait for him. Was like fuck my favourite character... and dog :(
@omegaultima990 when i happend to that i didn't knew that he could be saved and when i dicovered that i was like "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU....." and the looked on the other saved games, and nothing
@Dracula9AntiChapel There's barely ANY difference in this game's sound. I played both the SNES and GBA version and I would go for the GBA version every time now. The added contents are much better then slightly different music. xD
@kratos7777 I have also played both -- and there is PLENTY of difference, whether I use "Low Pass Filter" on the audio or not. And besides that, the GBA version's colors were all over-saturated to be more visible on the original GBA's non-lit screen. 8~(
Get the GBA version with the color and sound patches, you'll notice the difference even on a GBA and still have the added content. ;~)
Yo, Xytrasx, did you make sure you had both Strago AND Relm in your party? Because I was having the same problem on the Anthology version of VI, where I made sure I had Strago, but not Relm, and when I added her into the party the entrance came up no problem.
Don't know if anyone answered your question about Ebot's Rock (or if you figured it out since it's been nearly 2 years) you have to go to Thamasa with Strago and Relm in your party first.
I got totally stuck here. There I was, trying to make some easy cash and MP (the vanish/x-zone trick doesn't work anymore, after all), and then this THING show up. I was not having a fun time, let me tell you.
lol most people dont take cursed shields to boss battles unless there sure there gonna win quickly, this fight is quite easy i just basically couldnt survive his desperation attack so i just gave gogo jump lol and i won, wouldnt give him/her the cursed shield though, he/shes weak enough as it is i tried it for like 2 fights then thought your going on mog where you belong
Difference in opinion really, me personally I don't like the GBA version for the exception of its portability. but honestly. I'd much rather play the SNES/PSX versions when I'm not traveling some where as I feel they are much superior. Also Bum Rush Still sounds alot cooler to me.. hell I would have accepted an homage to Cid in FF7 ala "Big Brawl" which is a similar move, sorta
Yeah Big Brawl does have similarity. I love this game equally to the SNES/PS1 version, but there are some sound effects and music that I love alot more in this version. For example Sabin's Bum Rush in this game sounds really cool to me. :)
I will give FF6:A credit for one thing... my favorite scene in the game was actually done better in the GBA version. other then that.. everything just felt so.. I dunno the word really.. watered down I guess (for lack of better word) I get that GBA cant handle sound like SNES/PSX can so its somewhat forgivable it sjust painful to listen to sometimes. oh and my favorite scene is the opera house. they made that scene feel more powerful in the gba.
Yeah something about the Sound in SNES being 32 bit, and GBA has 16 bit. I think... in my opinion, putting this game on the DS would be a dream come true. :)
I'd rather have a PsP port myself I'm not sure I like the DS style remakes so far.. like FF3 and now FF4, I mean.. from what I've heard is they changed the story to part 3 completely, I dunno though
Ah. Honestly though I'd welcome a 3d-ish remake of FF6 as long as they didn't screw it up.. FF6A came close to that "screw it up" feel to me, but FF6 is also my personal favorite FF. I thought FF4 and FF5 were done really well for the GBA port. Dawn of Souls I didn't much care for, they made um far to easy (except the bonus mode in ff2... that was actually challenging and fun, though short as crap lol)
ya FF7 is prolly my next favorite one besides FFXI just FF6 holds a special place in my gaming heart, I mean its the first FF I played, and I played it during the whole "FF3" days lol
I like FF12, its one of my top favorites actually I just wish the main story was a bit better, seriously the story itself is short, but all the sidequests hunts and things like that seriously bring about FF12s replay value for most people
my personal favs of final fantasy was number 4 and 6. Final Fantasy 5 kinda was easy because once you get the berserker job mastered you could do 9999 damage without trying so much. Locke in FF6 is blazing fast after you lv him up with the cactuar magicite. Also give him genji gloves and master's scroll and you would be doing 72,992damage pretty much in 5 seconds.
I'll assume the masters scroll is either the Hyper Wrist or Hero ring? Also Cactuar isn't in the original versions as a summon, Raiden is the esper you need for speed training. I've never actually played all the way through FF6:A, I just couldn't stomach the changes. if I had the actual GBA version I might though, the portability is nice at least =)
I loved ff6 on the ps but I couldn't play it again, I timed it, 7 seconds to get into the inventory, normally I can handle loading times but that killed me the 2nd time.
It never took that long for me O_o I'm fairly sure it didn't. Anyway to me its not bad enough to warrant not playing the game again or that particular version I mean. Meh oh well to each their own right? :)
Ya I guess, but honestly the Music in the GBA remake kills it for me, sans the opera house scene of course, which feels to be teh best version of the opera sound wise
I'd have to say the part I just mentioned :) I absolutely love the opera house bit. Oh man... I know its a bit silly to say but that scene ALWAYS brings a tear to my eye. The "Celes' theme" version of the song does the exact same thing... man... that is an epic scene ^^
I liked the part where kefka goes nuclear and killed all the espers, that bit I saw when I was a small child, and I was like NOOOOOO and cryed, till this day that bit still gives me a bit of that OMFG feeling.
Dont tell any shit. Look the description. You don't have to talk the man on Maranda, "Or else you can't fight him...". That isn't true. Just go and kill 10 Cactuars, and bravo! You find him.
I got that from a strategy guide, not my own tests. So sorry if it doesn't gel with that, feel free to make a better playthrough that's more accurate.
the answer to your question about ebot's rock is I think you have to talk to Gung-ho first. he's standing aroudn Thamasa wearing red clothes. I'm sure you already finished that part but I suppose I should put it in here :P
Yeah what I had to do is have both Relm and Strago when entering the city...then you get the story with Gungho...after that you can switch Relm out for someone else but you still need Strago. Oh well.
Yes it is, this Esper is not in the SNES version. There is also a bonus dungeon later not found in the SNES version that is much harder than Kefka's Tower! I will show you that soon.
