It has nothing to do with degrees. It has to do with a viable model and I don't see this mode of "treatment" as viable for most. Why not cut down the levels of intake gradually in very small steps, close to the JND (Just Noticeable Difference)? Then, you're not fighting so many battles at once, most of which you lose. There is not a group of junkies trying to detox together, the family intervention is not nearly such a problem, the other psychological issues are not as important, etc.

I venture that you have no idea what I'm talking about. It's not about books, moron. It's about experimenta; science. It's about results. If you disagree with me, then where is your evidence that detox and AA are effective treatments? Post some references, or shut up.
Just because you have a degree in psychology doesn't mean you know what you're talkign about. Dr Phil is a prime example, and one of the reasons why clinical psychologists don't have respect for him. Be a person my friend, don't try to convince people how smart you are.

He thinks it's a good idea to bring a bunch of junkies into one house and have them all try to go cold turkey together. Is it any wonder most don't make it?

Look, Dr. Drew strikes me as a competent physician, but not a competent commentator on mind. This is not surprising. Psychiatrists learn a lot about the physiology of mind and little of the nature of its functioning. Would Dr. Drew know what errorless extinction is and how it might be superior to his low success rate, cold turkey approach to detox? None of his comments suggest so.
Seems like you really have a problem with Dr. Drew. I'd guess he's pointed out the harmful effects of some kind of behavior you engage in. And based on reading some of your other comments I'm 100% convinced your intelligence level is less than average.
for someone that thinks dr. drew is such such a boring fraud, you spend an awful lot of your time watching his videos and commenting on them. i'm looking through his videos and you've commented on almost all of them. why might that be?
i'd like to hear about your credentials, experience, schooling or knowledge and compare them to his. that might be intersting to see.
My education is in psychology. I develop mathematical models of learning, mood, and emotions. I take a rate of reinforcement approach. I am currently working on a framework for a theory of mind. Look, Dr. Drew strikes me as a competent doctor in some respects, but his approach to the mind is laughable. It's not surprising. This is often the case with psychiatrists. They understand some of the physiology of learning and behavior, but not the nature.
I hadn't thought about that before. I can see the logic of it, mothers telling their daughters that they will burn in hell if they have sex, a way to try to prevent them from doing something that may not end well for their daughter.
So, is that why the church is so against birth control? Do they view it as competition? Girls don't need religion to protect them when a pill accomplishes the same thing...

You probably can't even define intelligence, much less measure it. Care to show I'm wrong?

It just isn't any of your business wheter or not women use birth control.
The threat facing humanity is on going wars and not a handfull of teens and young adults having pre marital sex.
The intrusion into the sex lives of others by fundamentalist is a red flag that should be taken seriousley and counterd.
