  • this just solved my bait problem,gone phish'n. BE BAC ... NEV-VUR

  • I've done this before for crayfish but don't let Mr. Game Warden catch you using that badboy, it's illegal! There are size and hole size requirements for minnow traps, at least here in Ohio there is. Also maybe poke some holes in it so the bread or whatever bait you choose can disperse into the water more easily to attract more fish, just a suggestion bro.

  • little pussy ass loser

  • Well done sir.. We have a survival channel that shows the lighter side of survival. We also did a minnow trap.

  • Great vid kid! I am going to try it right now...One thing I did different was use some speaker wire instead of the wire u used....we will c how it works...Never really thought about trapping my own minnow until I seen this vid. Why keep throwing all my money away at the bait shop...lol...thanks !!!!

  • Cool vid man

  • nice

  • can you put food in there? if so what kind of food to catch the little fish?

  • @richie123456789abcd bread works great.

  • Nice one. Need to check what a half inch is though :)

  • Thxs. IT WORKS!

  • @TheFanboyjeff It really works great!!!!!!!

  • damn u made it way too complicated than it needs to be

  • u kno u can jst take a full bottl & put bread crumbs or somfin in it and put it in da watr

  • @hibutthead1 You could, but that would be a lot easier for the fish to swim out of, and somewhat harder for them to swim into.

  • @MrMrSmith85 thats not tru the only dif thing bout this is dat the bottm is foldd in & it cant be easyr 4 them 2 swim out of elz i wouldnt catch so many 4 bait

  • Comment removed

  • @hibutthead1 OK, my mistake then.

  • @MrMrSmith85 yup it is

  • Cool video. You could staple the bottles together, too. I'll try your model

  • why the hell would you want minnows?

  • @Kevis007vidz Minnows are great for fishing bait

  • @Kevis007vidz He said bait fish in the vid.

  • I find the cone fits in better (nice and tightly) without the little slit

  • Just a suggestion but for your future descriptions include the materials and fantastic guide!

  • good job! I need to make one of these. I like to fish and minnows get expensive. Thanks.

  • i think you did pretty darn good!

    thanks

  • It would be funny if he left the cap on

  • @jakesta1147

your supposed to keep the cap on.............unless you want to release your bait on good behaviour.

  • @oldtrout111 why would you release them the whole point of this video is to keep them for bait and jakesta1147 was takin about the other half of the bottle.

  • propane and propane accessories i tell u h'what

  • @916geo420 king of the hill

  • Good job chief

  • Woha... All you need is one bottle, cut the top off, and turn it inside out in the bottle end you just cut off. cut 2 small holes and stick a stick in the holes side to side, tie a string on each end extending through the bottle to hold the top together, bait it and drop it in the water with a rock inside the bottle to sink it. With a stinger attached to drag it back in....

  • just out of curiosity, why do you catch minows? can you eat them? or do you just do it for fun?

  • @LemonMan91 You can eat them or use them as free bait (:

  • on the side that you didn't cut the top off, you should because otherwise it is easier for them to get off

  • it is called soda. i can't stand it when my relatives call it pop

  • @fkagiantfish pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop popopopopopopopopopop!!!! xD

  • I made a trap like that but easyer because i dont hae the stuff you have, you make great videos. I am testing it now in a very small pond, i will respond again and tell you how many i caught

  • You do a really good job; thanks for making so many positive and helpful videos for others out there and doing it respectfully. We appreciate it!

  • Do these homemade traps work as effectively as commercial traps?

  • that was a very good trap i made one and i caught crayfish with mine

  • imma improvise and use thread

  • We are going to make one this weekend and try it out

  • good one young un.will try this for minnows as will be going after perch.

ignore the morons keep making the video clips

  • You made a great video kid! Dont let the jerks w/ negative things to say get ya down. I just made 2 traps based on your video & can't wait to try them. I do have 1 tip for ya though... if / when you are heating your nail (or anything else) on a torch, the hottest point is near the tip of the light blue flame. It seems in your vid you were holding the nail to the nozzle of the propane torch. It may seem like that's the hottest spot but actually you should hold it out a bit.

  • @804sodium I agree, don't let the jerks discourage you... Great video... two suggestions. One, use a small drill bite to make your hole, does away with the torch, nail and wood... second use fishing line instead of wire.. much easier to weave.

    Regards,

    Semper Fi

  • @budda1125

I agree with everything plus a third suggestion: if you have two bottles you should use the top of both bottles so that you can unscrew the top to pull the minnows out and set the trap back in the water

  • amazing videos man

  • how old are you to know all this?

  • this can also be used as a crawfish trap

  • if you hold it farther from tip it will heat faster the blue is the cooler part of the flame

  • looks like a great trap i havent tryed making it yet but can you make a video of what u catch in it i would appreciate it

  • How long do you keep the trap in the water?

  • woot a future republican racist retard

  • Comment removed

  • how do you get the bait out? can you only use it 1 time or what

  • @logancoolguy Un screw the cap at the other end....

  • wtf r u making a death trap

  • nice

  • G J 5/5 POZDRAWIAM

  • thanks for showing how to make this. =D

  • i caught about 50 minnows and ate them all raw. thanks for dinner! :D

  • @Alm1ghtyRogue how do you eat RAW fish

  • how do u make a log raft

  • @WoWWyWubzy fishing line would work too i made my own one day and its held up since.

  • you couldn't just poke the nail through? i dont think you need a blow torch to poke holes in a water bottle....

  • this may seem random but what kind of kayak was that in the intro? it looked like mine without a dry well.

  • One knife and a tube of super glue JOB DONE !

  • Why so complicated? You don't NEED any of the stuff you used, you could accomplish the same with a multi tool or knife, some string or paracord, and 2 bottles. Put holes in both parts of the bottle with the multi tool, and string thme together to hold them in place. Then you can tie the trap off to something as well so it doesn't drift away. Poke some holes in the front bottle for air to escape and for a current to run through, and put some peanut butter in the front bottles cap.

    Much simpler.

  • you just have to cut the top off and put it in backwards take the cap of and then tape it on

  • Not just this one all his minnows will feed you

    More than nothing

  • U suck guy below me I'm going to laugh wen you are out in the wilderness and die while he lives

  • @stonesaceofspades goes to u too

  • this guys such a loser.

  • @9999crazyman shut the fuc up loser u can go to hell hes just trying to survive get a life bitch

  • @joshzilla1100 hahahahahha, your obviously this kids alt. I dont thi nk there is a need to survive bye catching your own fish, unless your parents actually dont love you that much.Stop being a little queer and why dont you get a life and learn how to spell or insult somebody you prepubescent little fuck.

  • @joshzilla1100 retard ahhahah ur prob just like him but if u were surviving and u have a minnow trap and a bear comes wat can u do -.- and if ur starving Minnows cant feel u up worth shit and if u get bit by a snake how is a minnow trap ganna save u and if u were surviving were r u going to find a nail 2 bottles and a per-pane torch with a lighter huh 0.0 this isn't surviving its being a pussy poser if ur starving u are going to catch big meat or fruit

  • your good at this stuff can you make a condom?

  • why not just use a stapler, instead of setting the place on fire?

  • who let you near tools really?

  • Excellent video, you are very good with your hands, keep up the good work man.

  • make more u are the best

  • nice trap

  • i made one like that but all i used was one water bottle and a knife.

  • vids are good but intros are gayer than liberacchi

  • @robbieandalex watcha da backie watch a de crotchie its a sergeant liberachi

  • thats a real great trap and work good also...what kind of bait do you use ?

  • @jrobo199

Dog food or any strong smelling kitchen scrap

  • @wildernesscraftsman would frozen shrimp work?

  • @jrobo199 u should use bread dough, hard bread crumbs, if possible, use shrimp in the dough. if u want, get a shoe lace (used), cut a portion of it off, then stick bait on it.

@wildernesscraftsman dog food could attract wild "land" animals, and i don't recommend kitchen scraps

  • @jrobo199

if its fresh water just use bread its the best or u can use corn

  • Bravo. Will make one tomorrow. Was just searching for some to buy and then found your very helpful video. Thanks and good luck with EVERYTHING.

  • Very creative!

  • u could staple the top of the bottle to the bottom of the bottle

  • @ddsspecpk5

    Form follows function.

  • You made this a lot harder than it should have been....duct tape to hold them together would have been enough.....and some 10-15 lb fishing line would have been plenty to use as a way to pull it out of the water

  • The tip of the flame is the hottest.

  • @tromboneJTS

    ........

  • i have to say: you are good mate!

    cheers

  • You know, one pop bottle would work. Just cut the other end off.

  • holy shit at 9:00 is your finger gone?

  • Hmmm, do I want my kids messing with a blow torch? Hell to the NO! Check out the You tube video on the Collapse-A-Trap. It catches live bait fish, fits in your tackle box. I haven't paid for bait in years...

  • @redmond424 collapse-a- rip off. y 20 dollers for that shit. just use a bug net. and if u dont want kids using torches the just do the beginning part of the vd and the U can poke holes with a knife

  • Great Job!

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SHUT UP!!! good god everyone be nice its his way to make (his) trap and if you don't like it and if you think yours is better make a vid. of it why can't we all get along with each other i have caught minnows and therefor it worked so like i said everyone shut up and be nice

  • jerk, hes just a kid, wheres your video if your the critic lol..

  • i lov ur vids

  • yes ofc you can find a bottle in the woods i never said you couldn't. ordenairy trash is very easy to find in almost any place. but im just saing that you could use for exampel your knife or any thing with a sharp end to make the small holes. then you will save time.

  • Why didn't you just use the smaller torch? Duh!!

  • you dont have to heat the nail because if you have notise the nail has a sharp end which you just can pirce th bottle and then you dont have to spend time to heat the nail and ofc you only need one bottle instead of two bottles. which means you can make two traps with two bottles instead of one trap out of two bottles. theoretically it means you can catch twice as many fish:)

  • @JoeChesHarv

Try not heating the nail and see what happens genius.

IT DOSENT WORK NEARLY AS WELL because its not melting through the plastic!

Holy crap that just blew my mind............

    Dont ask stupid questions

    Wilderness Craftsman

  • That would be great! Thanks for everything.

  • Hi, I like all of your videos. They are very good. Can you make a video about making a fishing lure please? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

  • Yeah i could do that, Any specifics on material? Popcan's can make great lures, there's other ways but if popcan is okay with you i will use that

  • Sure.

  • dude your vids rock, you tell me all the stuff i need to know about the wilderness.

  • Thread would just wear through. you could use twine or fishing line though. if you need wire just look in a junk drawer or something it comes with almost all picture frames

    Thanks

    Wilderness Craftsman

  • tht was well good guide, how long can u use that trap for?

  • As far as what? how long to leave it in the water? or how many times can you use it before it breaks? in answer to those you leave it in for around 1-3 days for a decent catch, also it should last for hundreds of uses as there's not really any stress put on it or anything

  • ye cool, i was meaning how many times u can u use it until it broke =)

  • u dont hav to heat up the nail on the wood u could just use pliers and much less u coud just use a bic lighter instead of propanee

  • great job really cool to see young men still doing stuff for themselves.

  • your name is wilderness craft but you cant make this in the bush you should just go buy a minnow trap

  • This costs next to nothing and it can be USED in the wilderness!

  • You can find a bottle in the bush, You can heat the nail in a fire with your multi tool and minnow traps cost money and this on is just as effectice.

  • good job
