  • Why does music such as this have to be dissected? The video isn't official, so forget all the religious nonsense.

  • 22 people should learn how to handle a mouse

  • Mind-Expanding! Mood-Altering vibe... BOC is my opium!

  • There are no words to describe this beautiful sound, I love it.....

  • notice how the voice is robotized... like a drone..hmmm....religious drone..hmmmmmmzzzzzz

  • @Spoonfedz since you've decided to analyze, what about the children in the beginning? what does this mean to you?

  • piękne miejsce kurwa !!!!!! dawac nową plyte

  • I wish BoC would just release an album every week. Every time I hear something by them that I haven't heard before, it makes me wonder why I listen to anything else.

  • DON'T DRINK THE KOOL-AID!!!!!

  • Okay, I'm comfy. Now genocide me.

  • For one second I thought it was Jim Jones and his gang.

  • No gore could beat this

  • anyone know what the creepy woman is saying?

  • @bogrowlie Googling lyrics tells me that they are simply "come out, and live with a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country." The footage is from nothing more sinister than a "National Farmers Union's summer camp for farm children."

  • @bohemianhare

    Thanks bro :)

  • @bohemianhare "Come Out and Live with a Religious Community in a Beautiful Place Out in the Country" was the slogan for the Branch Davidians, who were a cult also referred to in "1969"

  • @StudioScarecrow

    *nods

In that song you hear : Although not a follower of David Koresh, she's a devoted Brand Davidian

    .___.

  • @azntranc3951 I wonder if this too has anything to do with Waco Massacre? I thought that was what 1969 was about.

  • @Pwnzor729

    It probably does :)

  • @Pwnzor729 Perhaps. Maybe its the brighter side of the story. Come out and live in a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country. It sounds quite warm and loving.

  • @job2k6 A good outlook to have. I'll go with your side of the story.

  • @bohemianhare That is spicy stuff!

  • @bogrowlie

"Come out and live with a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country"

so as to what others were saying, this is a reference to the Branch Davidian's slogan.

  • seriously so fucking good

  • Sorry for all the comments removed... took a few tries to get the synch point correctly confirmed.

  • Interestingly, you get a very different combination if this one is 1 second ahead, as well. Most combos don't work, and will sound unpleasant, but some are quite good.

  • "Precisely, start playing "music is math" from 0:00 at the exact same time you hear the starting tone of the second music step set of "In a beautiful place," which appears at about 0:03 of this song. i.e. 1) find the tone I'm talking about. Have music is math loaded in another window, but stopped at the exact beginning. 2) Start this song and flip to other window. Press play just before you hear the tone start. Repeat a couple of times for exact timing; you'll know when you've got it right.

  • @jmo00 Except bad grammar (your grammar is fine, I'm just saying).

  • Boards of Canada defines the meaning of:-"Worst part is the end"

...In the right mood, it feels like I could listen to this forever

  • I played this while driving through sparsely populated countryside on a 2-lane road. I have never been so happy to be out in the middle of cow pastures.

  • @jdoggybizzle iknowthatfeelbro

  • We will hear this music when we die, when your soul is leaving your body, you will hear laughter from the other lost souls, just like in the song! Imagine..

  • @CalisCool

good music sense, but you are a sucker for re-packaged shit.

  • @u1b2 theres nothing re-packaged about spec-ops

  • I can't help but feel the underlying sense of sadness and irony to this beautiful song.

  • I'm proud to say this is Canadian. This is beautiful.

  • Really beautiful combination of music and images here, top marks to uploader dude!

  • enable embed plz?

  • I opened "In a beautiful place out in the country" and "Music is Math" at same time.

... My mind is lost in another dimension...

  • @Eox3 can't get them to sync : (

  • @Ziphoideus Probably it was too random to tell exactly at which point it mixed nicely.

  • @Ziphoideus I've got "In a beautiful place" 3 seconds ahead of "Music is math," and it's working really well in many places.

  • A song of surpassing beauty.

  • Dang, I hate when people talk about drugs n' stuff.. I don't know.. Everybody and their brother talks about getting high... Shit, man. Just disappoints me. The classlessness..

  • @MisterFleshcage Well it just so happens that experiences that people have under the influence of drugs can be the most important and vast in life.. Calling people "classless" for sharing special moments and talking about the wonders of getting high seems a bit judgmental... Dontcha' think?

  • @kenrben respect right there.

  • @kenrben Yeah, you're probably right. I'm a stick in the mud, and I know it.

  • Check out my new single "Life is Unfair" on my channel, its a really chilled out ambient boards of canada style of track with a deep message. All it takes is a listen, and who knows you just might like it, while I could hopefully get some exposure up in Canada.

  • Word of advice; never never never NEVER ever listen to this song while on mushrooms. seriously... just a heads up.

Awesome song though! Just not on mushrooms.

Really though don't fucking do it I'm not kidding.

  • @juicescoo You saying that now makes me want to do it hahahaha

  • @juicescoo Well... I've listened to Boards of Canada (including this song) a few times on shrooms... unless you're joking because it's pretty fucking awesome

  • release an new album!!!please!

  • chek out my boards of canada montage in my channel :P

  • Enchanting.

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • @GolliwoggMusic

    Okay.

  • old movies creep the fuck out of me

  • Come out, and live with a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country..

  • @Rahwbin Drink the kool-aid. It's safe.

  • @Rahwbin Come out and live in a pretentious community in a beautiful place out in the country..

  • @Rahwbin come now this could be energy inner fear for we be break out cut the strings.

    thanks for telling my douchbag.

  • @paranoidboytoy You flaming me or what? I don't get it.

  • @Rahwbin boards of canadas music is supposed to be non interperative like art. thats why i never watch the videos. i mean im not really flamming you but if someone wanted the lyrics they would go look for them. because of you i can never undo the words you put there. when i used to listen to this song i used to think of a space ship or something now i wont be able to do that. next time please dont post the lyrics.

  • @paranoidboytoy Do you have any idea how egocentric that sounds? Are you really mad about me putting the lyrics here so you can't ''undo'' the words to that of your imagination?

This is the internet, people say whatever they want, there are trolls, haters, feeders, whatever. You can't go and be mad about what someone says about something you disagree with, cause there will always be those people, if one doesnt say it then the other will. Have fun getting angry at everyone.

  • @Rahwbin An amazing track, not too disimilar to Brian Eno's 'An Ending'.

  • @paulkazjack Thanks for recommending that track! Its nice to hear one of the principal innovators of ambient music at work. I find this one not too disimilar to "Milosh- You make me feel".

  • @Rahwbin i'm just going live with a community in a beautiful place out in the country, why does it have to be religious

  • @ChiuaruStefan Me to mate, me to. But it's just the official lyrics, I didn't make em.

  • @ChiuaruStefan because it has a religious touch.

  • this song is kind of scary but in a nice way

  • Love this more than anything in my entire life.

  • Come out, and live with a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country

  • live in Switzerland. My biggest dream is to go to Canada and drive with BOC's Music in my ears through the whole Country

  • @DurcheinanderWelt MFW i did that last week

  • @MegaAfroGuy That's not nice from you.

    I could start to cry.

    Really

  • @DurcheinanderWelt Did just that - only in Scotland. Even found the beach at Redpoint and listened to the same track while there. Had a religious experience, of course. And I live in Switzerland, too :)

  • Yea this song is bad ass!

  • this sounds better at 33 rpm

  • What makes Boards of Canada so intriguing is their secretive nature; their connection to the mysterious Hexagon Sun; their obsession with cults; and the way their music perfectly captures the dread and evil hidden beneath them.

  • This tune brings me WAY back!

  • i just came back from walking 15 days through the southwest of france in the totally nature , 2 weeks without listening to dope stuff like this .. coming back and hearing this song is so fucking nice!

  • Always liked the Boards of Canada, especially this track about being in the country!!

  • i listen to BOC when im pissed off, i instantly get calmed down

  • @dragonforceisasem LOL so do i :)

  • I honestly Love the music video's by BoC.. the grainy life styles depict living before the 90's.. good times were those back then.

  • beeeautiful ;...)

  • 17 people think this is dubstep.

  • soo... this is about Jim Jones?

  • @greedyjr close. david koresh

  • This is good dubstep

  • this sounds like it's what "everything you do is a balloon" is based on

  • It seems strange to see people from fifties America just going about their day-to-day lives rather than fighting B movie monsters.

  • I wonder where those guys at the end of the video went and where they are now...

  • @3LARI klan meeting maybe?

  • this is the first tune out of thousands that I couldnt hit the like button enough for

  • CatatonikC4T

  • This song is a reference to the Waco compound where David Koresh and his followers were living until the ATF siege. Their line was "Come out and live in a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country."

Makes it not seem as hypnotically romantic anymore, huh? It's the way BoC do things. They put a veneer of beauty on top of some very sinister-sounding content that you won't notice until you look closer. I <3 BoC

  • @phenethylaminedreams Hmmm, that was one of the most lucid comments with the biggest words I've ever seen on youtube. :) You might enjoy this article about BoC and the concept of "hauntology" I ran across. Search for "boards of canada hauntology," it's the "roguesfoam" blog.

  • @phenethylaminedreams I was just thinking about that duality of their sound while listening to "Everything You Do Is a Balloon." All soft, melancholic nostalgia on the surface, but there's something ominous and disturbing lurking in the depths.

TBH, that's kind of kept me away from their music until recently. There's no denying it's excellent, but for awhile it kind of... scared me, in a subtle way.

  • @phenethylaminedreams Oh sick, thanks for explaining that.

  • @phenethylaminedreams Eh, whatever. It's your choice to interpret life as you wish.

  • Comment removed

  • @phenethylaminedreams which makes it ever more romantic, i feel... by having both polarities from the sinister to the beautiful and thus the transcendental... it's whole. there is a purity to this complex originality, a truth to this music, a real message to taken from it.

  • ‎'All my life, my heart has yearned for a thing I cannot name.'

  • Both the idiotic bickering below and the song above remind me that we all need space from each other from time to time. I love going off on my own absorbing the sunset alone but surrounded by the beauty of nature. p.s. I hope I don't sound like a ranting nut! :)

  • anyone feel like time has stopped, and nothing but this beautiful song is playing?...

o wait, i just forgot i'm sitting in a quiet room with headphones on. ;D

  • Truely fuckin beautiful

  • this song made me feel a way, i have not felt in a long time.

  • Your arguments aren't very BOC

  • @jlicha002 _O_

  • i am....so in love with this song...are you?

  • i've just moved to los angeles, calafornia in the united states from canada. It is a beautiful place and what i like the best are the palm trees

  • eery

  • F**king awesome, bands like this make me appreciate the virtues of independent music.

  • 16 people have there thumbs up there arse! BoC will never die!

  • your videos are so cool

  • Unmap I disagree,I would go live in a place like this with Marijuana,Psychedelics,People you love, music, books and and film.No religious people around to make hypocritical remarks.

  • "come out, and live with a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country"

  • @unmap Oh nooooo! I'm loving this track since years - and I never checked the lyrics! I'm an atheist. :/ Maybe the real lyrics could be like this: "come out, and live with a ridiculous community in a beautiful place out in the country"! :D

  • @xGimbal why? isn't atheism a religion? they don't specify what religion.

  • @ArUlric7 In my opinion atheism isn't a religion. But I understand what you mean. I have to come out, and live with an atheistic community in a beautiful place out in the country. That's a good deal. :)

  • @xGimbal exactemundo duderino!

  • @ArUlric7

Atheism is not a religion. Its the complete opposite of theism.

  • @Serpent541

thrilling tale sir, on another related notice i really dont give 2 acts of sodomy for your comment has nothing to do with the music in question, nor it being a positive and/or funny remark, i will ask you to remove your buzz killing personage from these pages and go do some science, with some magnets.

and for next time, you should have something to contribute to the conversation, instead of being a typical douchebagg.

now off you go... or just stfu and listen to this masterpice.

  • @ArUlric7

Huh? The conversation was about "religious people" which is what the lyrics in the song refer to so it has everything to do with the Music. You asked a question and I answered it.

  • @Serpent541 u mad?

  • @ArUlric7 ur an idiot

  • don't you just hate it when people bud in to a conversation? and then start stating facts to answer questions that you didn't ask them in the first place? i just don't like that behaviour.

just because he feels the need to reply to me, i don't have to take him seriously if i don't want to.

that's why my behaviour is so idiotic. not because i think i make sense, but is imply don't want to make sense and confuse m. for fun :)

btw, sick song. i can chill to this till infinity.
