WOW... well I had almost the same experience with a "friend" I told... she was a gossiper as well but she swore on god she wouldn't tell anyone... the difference was that everyone remained pretending they didn't know til someone told me everybody knew... confronted the girl and she DENIED it! she even blamed a very close friend of mine who knew like a year before her without telling a word...but I'm still afraid to tell my parents... I don't wanna lose them... I love them so much...
Wow...thats awful what that "friend" did to you and I know how it felt...The same thing happened to me when I was 18, except at the time I was a U.S. Marine and I caught hell from so many people and it was really tough. @sleekcartim You're making giant assumptions on his supposed self-hate. You don't know what his circumstances, pressures or threats have been. Coming out is different for everybody. Plus, he's still in UK's version of high school. You could've just as easily congratulated him on being prudent, instead of attacking his courage.
Does that sound like a self love motivated action? Fear is our enemy. self hate has many outlets / symptoms, some hidden, even to ourselves. Even he admits it wasnt the best thing to do, he's right it, isnt the best way for anyone coming out. If someone is in suspected danger by coming out then i recommend you dont come out.

was Mr. Republican and former USC football player. But he cared for me so much
that during my senior year, he allowed me to have a boyfriend over on weekends!
