  • Possibly Sir Stirling's greatest F1 win when he trounced the much more powerful Ferraris by sheer brilliance. I believe he took the lead on Lap 14 and was never headed. Phil Hill and Richie Ginther tried everything but he was just too good for them despite driving a fragile year old Lotus 18. No protection, fuel tanks around the driver and battery in the cockpit. Skill counted for everything and a great driver could still beat more powerful machinery on drivers circuits such as Monaco.
