  • basically Gandalf saying: "Sit down you weak-minded fool"

  • It's quite cool in DTS-HD.

  • 0:24 Elvish facepalm

  • TRANSLATION FOR KIDS OUT THERE: ''shit your Gondorian ass down!''

  • 0:24

    Elrond...the true inventor of Tebowing.

  • Translate: "One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them, One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them"

  • "Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, Ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul."

  • Dreadlords in warcraft say the same thing, lol

  • Gandalf is a Greybeard. A bad-ass one.

  • 0:23 Elrond facepalm.

  • Damn, looks like Gandalf took a beating just saying those words.

  • He used the dragon language... HE'S A FUCKING GREY BEARD!!!

  • Yo thumbs up if this part reminded you of the greybeards from SKYRIM

  • They should have kept this in the theatrical version. Makes Gandalf seem more like the Maia he is, rather than a mere wizard.

  • TRANSLATION:

    Sit Your Motherf*cking Ass Down!

  • this scene happens to me all the time... when non-asian people piss me off i cuss out in chinese... and all the chinese people around me complain about my use of language like elrond did....

  • I wonder, seeing the reactions of Elrond and Legolas, does the black speech hurt them in some way? Like nothing serious but making them go numb or getting a headache, I mean if you see the reactions of the others.. they are more suprised and confused

  • @Avimy9129 it is a tough of evil and as such hearing it irritates them more than hurts them. Elves are more sensitive to the world than humans are so they feel the power from those words.

  • @Avimy9129 elrond for sure looks kind of like he just got one of those migraines that make you want to fall over and throw up. I guess like you do that the black speech has a twisting quality to it that only they are familiar with because their nature is diff, they're a little older & they have knowledge of that sort of thing. even galadriel says she can smell and feel something rank, meaning to me they are more sensitive, and she's all the way over the mountain and through the woods.

  • legolas looked almost dizzy.

  • @Avimy9129 Black speech is a buttrape of Elfish it reminds them how first orcs were created from corrupted elves and how the elves lost ALOT because of Sauron

  • @kaffekoppteiskrem Mr. Dalf is just reminding people of what the ring represents by uttering, Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum ishi krimpatul.

This is the black speech, it translates to, One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

So now everyone like...awwww shit thats right....that belongs to the dark lord...man I ain't gonna touch it.

  • That was the Black Speech.. And it had nothin' to do with poor Boromir. Infact, Boro didn't succumb to the Ring until much later.

  • This never happened.

  • Gandald the Maiar speaking the words of Sauron a Maiar is what causes the shaking

  • what is the Gandalf's magic?

  • @BBspike100 Gandalf is the wielder of the Ring of Fire, Narya. He uses fire, light, and lightning.

  • @BBspike100 Gandalf`s true power lies in his sould, but gandalf gain power from his lighting staff and the ring of fire that i wields

  • You can clearly hear another voice, which sounds like sauron to me. I mean 0:25 0:27

  • what is sauron saying? I could hear that he said "sharkû", which means "old man"

Anyone know what else he said?

And why could sauron speak all of a sudden? im really curious

  • @kaffekoppteiskrem are you retarded??? that guy is Gandalf and he is speaking the language of mordor. Sauron isn't talk through him or talking at all.its Gandalf saying the black language of mordor!!! He said it to stop anyone from fighting over the ring for the moment.... every1 is saying that gandalf is saying. u must be bad at hearing cuz he did not say sharku. ur prob just trying 2 be dramatic about saruman who is named sharku by the uruks. every1 is saying what gandalf just said.

  • Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul,

Ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.

  • Not really Gandalf magic- just evil languege. Still, loved the vid!!v

  • Ash nazg durbatulûk,

    ash nazg gimbatul,

    ash nazg thrakatulûk agh

    burzum-ishi krimpatul

  • He bewitched boromir? hahahaha

  • 0:24 Elrond facepalm muhahahah

  • He's not bewitching boromir he is just stating what is on the ring in the language of mordor. This is done so that NO ONE goes on and acts retarded and says "OMG let's take the ring!!" Nevertheless, terrific scene.

  • Gandalf the Maiar, of the Istari cult and arguably the greatest wizard of all (Saruman did outrank him and for a long time until Gandalf the Grey became Gandalf the White, was slightly more powerful - but the Elves sensed Gandalf was always the greater, which is why Cirdan gave him his Elven Ring of Power, Narya the Ring of Fire and not to Saruman and why Galadriel wanted him to be the head of the white council) If he took the Ring...well, end of. Gandalf's humility is in itself staggering...

  • What da fuk was that? Is some dark magic of the dark lord? they should be more specific

  • @wOngWitBigShlong he read the words on the ring is the language of mordor, and since sauron put them there as a spell they have that effect when read. straight from the book that scene is

  • @wOngWitBigShlong He is answering one of the Elven lords as to how he knows it is the one Ring, by saying that he read these words on it after laying it in a fire for a while to bring up the letters of the inscription. The words make the sky grow dark, and all the elves stop their ears. Elrond reproaches him, and Gandalf replies that the black tongue will soon be heard all through the West if they do not find a way to get rid of it.

  • Boromir: Isildur's bane..

gandalf: yo mothafaka! sit down yoo ass yo! dont be like this you feel me?

Elrond: no one ever has uttered the black speech in imladris

  • why when orcs speak in mordor it doesnt look like this? darkening and the ground shake etc?

  • @beepIL it is in the presence of the one ring. the ultimate evil and what have you. and he is speaking the words on the band of the ring.

  • @beepIL Cuz this IS Gandalf :D

  • If Gandalf owned the One Ring, that would be awesome.

  • I don't think I'd like being an actor. You get into the middle of a scene like this and someone yells, "cut!" In England don't they say something else? But anyway to have to do it over and over again must be tiresome. Especially if you get it right and another person or something else goes wrong. lol Songs

  • 0:23 Legolas the Wanker^

  • Elrond's facepalm :D

  • Transcription: Ash nazg durbatuluk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatuluk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul!

  • Every time I watch Sam peek around the corner at the end of RoTK, I start to think about Clerks 2 and begin to laugh.

  • i do not ask your pardon for uttering the black speech, now thats rude

  • That was exactly what happened when some guy complained about modus tollens being "bullshit" to one of my logic professors! Dr Roy is an Istari! LOL

  • Elronds face when Gandalf is speaking is priceless XD

  • The Black Speech? Surely Martin Luther King Jr. didn't have this much of an effect when he spoke, unless he's as powerful as our dear Gandalf.

  • I have to agree with Premogyus - If you will guys, all of you, who are talking about Gandalf, who "nearly-fall", you obviously didnt read the book. Gandalf never fell under influence of the ring, nor "nearly".

  • When Gandalf says don't fuckin touch it, don't fuckin touch it!

  • Are you people fucking retarded? Gandalf never nearly-succumbed to the one ring nor did he protect Rivendel against Sauron.

This scene, was about discouraging Boromir and everyone else on the council from using, or even thinking of using, the one ring. Thats why Gandalf speaks in the black speech, he simply reminds everyone that the ring is evil just like its creator:

"One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them."

  • wow this scene maybe out of charechter for gandalf but its also kind of scary to think of how dangerous gandalf would be if he succmbed to the ring and this was just a sample of it 0_o

  • As much as I like this scene (seeing Gandalf succumb to the ring for only a brief moment, perhaps through jealousy or a protective nature...the end result is the same) it really wouldn't fit in the film. Seeing Gandalf fall prey to it, whilst the other "lesser" beings sat by... 'not being consumed' by the ring. It'd seem a bit silly.

  • @Xanicks You do know he doesn't succumb right? Just by saying the Mordorian speech, in the presence of the ring, gives the ring power.

  • This happens to me all the time. Sometimes the black speech just comes out.

  • Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul

  • 0:24 Elrond facepalm! ^^

  • trust me you guys, I have seen this part, sauron's voice was taking control of rivendell and gandalf saved rivendell by using the speech against him, as you notice while gandalf does his short speech you will also hear sauron combating him with speeches and in the end gandalf stopped sauron, simple as that

  • 0:24 Elrond: Not this shit again....

  • @Haza140 0:25 Legolas is like: "I feel sick."

  • @Haza140 hahaha not again lol

  • @Haza140 hahahahaha funny comment

  • That's not magic. He's only saying what's written on the ring in the language of mordor. One ring to rule them all. One ring to find them. One ring to bring them all. And in the darkness bind them.

  • This is definately one of the scenes that should have gone into the regular edition.

  • he's not using magic, he's just speaking the foul language of mordor, which in itself is painful and powerful

  • He's basically making them and especially Boromir aware that the ring only can be used by one "man", and only to do evil.

  • Did all that start happening because of Gandalf's magic or because of the words he was uttering?

  • @Chann223 It's because of both, actually. If anyone else had spoken it, it would have just sounded really evil. But because Gandalf is a lesser "god" of Middle Earth, it changed the weather for a brief moment. Just like when he was at Bilbos house, yelling at him. Also, Lordabe, he wasn't bewitching Boromir. He was keeping Boromir from trying to claim the ring.

  • I love Gandalf's "I do not ask for your pardon" :D

  • wow, thats a powerfull curse xD

  • Elrond: facepalm

  • He's all leik: GIMMEH TEH SHINY RING.. And Gandalfs all leik: STFU NOOB

  • Gandalf the Maiar, speaking the words of Sauron the Maiar. The earth is not going to like it.

  • @upthebutt13245 I don't think Gandalf is one of the Maiar. It sais in the book that he came from across the sea, but it doesn't say he's one of them. He's just the wizard. I guess that's smething entirely different. As there are some other wizards that r called wizards and not maiar.

  • @ThatTerra no gandalf is a maia, just like the 4 other wizards including saruman

  • @ThatTerra Gandalf, originally known as Olórin, is a Maiar. He is one of the Maiar that serves Manwë;

  • @spearhafoc Thanks.

I just looked it up anyway :)

  • @spearhafoc isnt it Maia.

  • @Tobolococo Indeed it should be Maia. That comes from changing what I was originally going to post - all the Wizards were Maiar.

  • @Tobolococo he is Maia, don't underrate Gandalf the Multi-Colour

  • Translated- 'GTFO BITCH' repeat.

  • mr. anderson

  • Black speech of Bieber, that shall not be spoken here!

  • Elrond's face :DD

  • Thats how I get if someone try picking up my beer.

  • 0:16 Gimli: AAARRFFF!!!!

  • Love Elrond's facepalm. Gandalf obviously failed pretty hard.

  • Reminds me of college.

  • Thanks for the translation. I always thought he said "fuzz nuzz." Which is also pretty cool.

  • what just happened?

  • @happyman Contrary to the video's title, Gandalf was not casting a spell. He mouthed the words which Sauron spoke when he forged The One Ring, and the untainted elven land of Imladris reacted to them. Hence the 'Never before has any voice uttered the words of that tongue here, in Imladris.' by Elrond.

  • Gimli shitted his pants.

  • sauron and his urukhai/orcs disliked this :)

  • 0:17 typical gimli reaction.. AHHAAHA

  • This is hands down the coolest scene in the movie and they took it out.

  • there s no magic, its some serious shit, you see elfs got wet pants during that speech

  • "burzum-ishi "... that remain me to Burzum, the band.

  • @CcharlyY89 yes Burzum named after the black speech, also Amon Amarth ( Mount Doom) then Morgoth,Dagor Dagorath,Minas Morgul,Gorgoroth ( a place in Mordor ) and then they say tolkien sucks,i havent heard any band name themselves after Harry Potter or stuff like that

  • @dunavidrava Its funny how those bands do that. Anti-christian bands name themselves after a LOTR object then hate tolkien

  • @fixajob1 i think they do.. or someone suggests them a name, and they accept it,not knowing that its from tolkien's world

  • It isn't isn't Gandalf's magic. It is dark language.

  • lol wtf was that really neccassery he just embareressed himself. borimir just steps back like "what the fuck?" and elrond just facepalms as if ashamed

  • @3rixtat3

Elrond does that because Black Speech which Gandalf is speaking actually causes Elves pain, which is why legolas also reacts to it.

  • @sdc3536 yeah i know i was joking

  • Elrond: ...Seriously, Mithrandir?... *face palm*

Gandalf: HOLD ON A SEC, GOTTA PWN

  • @WeAreAirborne I actually loled

  • elrond's facepalm is the best and priceless!!!! LOOOL

  • I LOVE SAURONS VOICE

  • @mupsoftaren me too :D

the voice they use for Sauron is PERFECT for that scene, not a monster or weird voice or anything, it's normal yet it's dark heavy & oppressive - pure evil!

    fockin brilliant :D

  • 0:23 ELROND, OH NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN

  • gotta love elronds facepalm =D

  • FACEPALM

  • Gozer the Gozarian has come! Choose the form of the traveller!

  • thats Mordor Speak for "SIT THE FUCK DOWN"

  • At 0:22 when Gandalf says "thrakatulûk", does Sauron/the Ring say "sharkû" with a dissing voice? That would be absolutely amazing. In Black Speech, "sharkû" means "old man".

  • @Feanorielle indeed! (how saruman was called:p)

  • Ash Nazg Durbatulûk Ash Nazg Gimbatul Ash Nazg Thrakatulûk Agh Burzum-Ishi Krimpatul

  • 0:16 Gimli freaks out :P

  • why the hell did they leave this out of the theater version? the guy who decided this is an idiot who should be fired (literally: cast into the fires of Mt Doom)

  • They should have left that part in. For the black speech to be spoken in Imladris, shows things are getting really bad.

  • at 0:23 Omg...not this again

  • geezus, what doesnt give legoles a fuckin orgasm?

  • 0:07 gandalf already watching elrond :P

  • Love Elrond's and Legolas's faces haha :P

  • did he speak the black languague ?

  • Wait why did Gandalf say that??? I dont understand

  • @MagicQuinn he was reminding Boromir of the ring's maker, that it is an evil thing.

  • 16 Gimli: "Aghh shit!" lol

  • LOL ELROND FACEPALM.

  • They should have put this in the unextended version...shows Gandalfs true power.

  • @RORYgaff I definitely agree this should be in the extended addition. However, it is not Gandalf's powers on display here. It's Sauron's.

  • Well said! But let me add that it's not (only) Sauron's power that is being displayed, but also the power of language. Language has its own power, this is the "message" of this scene; Tolkien, who was a professor of philology himself, has shown a lot of times in his works what is this power. Allow me to recall the scene where Aragorn says to Frodo that the name Elbereth, that he had cried during his confrontation with the Witch-king, was deadly to the enemy.

  • @Lhein33 True, very true, and an excellent point. Though, I think, that, while it illustrates the inherent power of the Black Speech, Gandalf is also demonstrating from whom that power comes.

  • Translation: "SIT THE FUCK DOWN!"

  • @Cavstic LoL F*cking GOLD!

  • what is the ring, or sauron, or whoever is, saying while gandalf speaks in the dark language of mordor???????????????

  • Elf king at 0:24= ah shit, not again

  • Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul,

Ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.

One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,

One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

  • @Yourpasswords how did you know this?

  • @thedarthobi1000 its quite easy :D

  • @thedarthobi1000 easy, just read th books

  • One onion ring to rule them all

one LOTR fan to find them

one whopper meal to bring them all

and in a Burger King binds them!!!

  • @Oblivionshadows247 America?

  • the Black Speak is 10x more eepic then any other language in lotr XD its the only 1 that has the power to make the skies grow dark, the speaker grow in size, and grown me get migraines and shart in their pants

  • I think Boromir shit his pants.

  • @xclickzm And your point?

  • poor boromir ... they suck him ass in the movie.

  • @Urbanjustil Yeah you're right...In the book J.R.R. Tolkien wrote that he was badass...xD And good looking with long arms lololol

  • And, I love the echo in the background of Sauron's/The Ring's voice.

  • it's Gandalf speaking the encryption on the Ring - it is said so in the book, and it is quite clearly shown in the movie.

  • Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul,

Ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.this is what gandalf said and it means One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,

One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

  • Elrond at 0:24 : Ah fuck here we go again.

  • :25 Legolas..."This fucking sucks..."

  • This wasn't Gandalf but the One Ring speaking. Gandalf noticed right away what was happening and started conjuring some sort of counter spell.

  • @mornegroth this WAS Gandalf saying what is written on the ring and not some counterspell

this was just to scare Boromir.

In the end, you hear Elrond say: never before has any voice uttered the words of that tongue (clearly, he's talking about the language of Mordor!) here ...

  • @burkydrol

Yes, when I posted that I thought about it as well, and it indeed looks like that's Gandalf doing it all.

Although at first I thought what happened was a reaction of the ring to Boromir (since he is a man, a race disputed in the story as being easily corrupted), for that the ring is "unleashed" in some way and starts speaking while Gandalf tries to "counter attack" anything that might come from it.

  • @burkydrol

And in my idea I thought Elrond was outrageous since Gandalf also said the same words the ring (Sauron) was pronouncing and for that he apologises.

  • I love boromir's expression of " Holy shit what the hell did I just do" at 36 sec. XD

  • @GalaxyMagician your comment is #666 :D

  • at 0:23 elronds like: o cmon now he has to show off again -.-

  • nice:D

  • Why the fuck wasn't this in the movie? It would have added all of 48 seconds. Fucks sake.

  • "Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul."

means in the language of the orks/sauron=

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,

One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

  • @troeterer Dude, what the fuck??

  • why did gandalf do that to snap boromir out of it or something?

  • @soukupb no he spoke the language of Mordor, the original words written on the ring.

  • @soukupb I always thought it was to purge the room of the EVIL that'd found itself there.
