@AyleenTV I don't think Orphan copied this intentionally. It's obviously coincidence. Same goes for that debate between Hard Boiled and Terminator, where in both movies the main actor pull out a shotgun hidden in a box of roses. It's result of coincidence. But having seen both Orphan and Ring 2, Orphan was the better film and I prefer the way Vera Farmiga delivers the line more. One example, how many times can you rip off saying "Go To Hell!" before killing someone?

But for those Japoholics/Otakus, or people who are too obsessed pointing out what original and what's not, I guess it's safe enough now to say that Japanese aren't as original too. We all know that Solid Snake is a complete ripoff of Snake Plissken.

@DudeSinger Orphan is way better, Ring 2 is a mess. The girl in Orphan is surprisingly good. I can see why some would say the film is not original, then again what is? Orphan revolves around a secret the audience is suppose to guess throughout the end. Since Orphan is part of the "Evil Child" genre, the film points out the previous knowings in evil child films, such as the Good Son and Omen; Is the orphan crazy, demonic? Orphan's secret has a more convincing approach the evil child genre.

From how I've always seen it the ring films were originally Japanese so an Japoholics will say this was better than orphan. But on the issue of who copied who, the ring films totally ripped Evil Dead in which a "tape recording" unleashes demonic forces that turn the living into demons.
