How sad for Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, and Handel that they could not own a Kurzweil. But what they had in their minds is a commodity that has evidently disappeared. I'm waiting for that one to come back with the great singularity Mr. Kurzweil himself has talked about.

yes the motif XS for all the variety is perfect but for strings & orchestral you got to love kurzweil.. iam buying a MOTIF and later a zurzweil rack-mount for the magnificent orchestral sound..

israelis run mega companies with many smaller companies in it. Kurzweil is one example...orbotech is another example.

Ray Kurzweil sold Kurzweil Music Systems to Young Chang in the mid 90's. He hasn't been a part of the company for quite a long time now. And his father has been dead for quite some time now as well. You should read some of his books, maybe then you would understand and not make ridiculous comments. Not that Ray Kurzweil is religious anyway, but he's also Jewish and hence has no Jesus to turn to for supposed "eternal life". :P

thanks for posting this. i may sell my xs6 and korg digital piano for a single 88key solution, and pc3x might be what i need. but im concern about the sax sounds. how do they sounds?(for kenny g type songs)

I just got one and the sax sounds very realistic as well as all brass.. I am not thrilled yet with the classic guitar though..

Yeah. The guitars are probably the weakest part of the PC3x.

sax sounds are crap. brass sounds are way better on the xs and on the fantom-g, the arx 03 - brass blows everything else away.

you can never find an all in one solution. pc3x is good in orchestral/organs/pianos..and analog tones from va1....the rest of the sounds i didn't think were that great: drums, guitars, etc.

also pc3x doesn't have audio in for voice processing so you need the motif xs for the awesome class A reverbs in the XS to process your vocals...and VCM effects for guitars...

Well, from what I've heard the PC3 has the best overall sound quality of any workstation out there and the amount of usable sounds is the biggest. It's hard to find a keyboard that has the best of everything, but I think the PC3x has most things covered very well.

you will be a real idiot to sell the motif xs6 as its effects and sounds are 2nd to none.

if i were you i would get the kurzweil only as an addition, not a replacement.

kurzweil sounds a bit muddy and its effects are just not as clean, especially the reverb.

they did a good job though of programming the sounds with small samples, but its still no replacement for a software orchestral sound library like tascam's gigastudio.

the sax sounds on PC3 don't even compare an ounce to the motif xs, or especially the fantom g ARX 03 brass....the ARX kills everything else for realism...

Hello Falgor,great channel ! I need an advice,i'm searching for a great sound module for my pc and i was about to buy Atmosphere (spectrasonics)

Now I'm instead thinking that buying a Kurzweil like yours would be better spent money ... what is the best option of the two in your opinion ? I'm searching for great strings/piano/pads (like Hooverphonic for example) THX A LOT MAN !!

Well, I've heard that the spectrasonics Atmosphere is great. I checked the website (spectrasonics), it seems it has a lots of good sounds. It's kinda difficult to say. If you need a keyboard and want to also play outside your studio, then Kurzweil PC3x. But if you only need sounds into your computer.... then I guess spectrasonics atmosphere.

But PC3x costs 10 times more than the Atmosphere. It's easier to get the sounds integrated with Atmosphere, but if you need a keyboard, then Kurzweil PC3x.

thanks for the reply.yes i checked the price tag of the kurtzweil (ouch)so i think i'm going to buy atmosphere and layer it with maybe a little piano vst and i'll be fine with it. BTW you make really great stuff man,the orchestral was impressive

Not as far as I know. I could be wrong. I think this is the product that will make it possible for Kurzweil to make a K3000. So buy it if you want super good keyboards :).

Wow, amazed at the sounds man! How many sounds are there in the PC3x anyways? And are there many presets, or do you have to make them yourself?

Hmm... I think it's 768 presets right now

(base rom 1, base rom 2, classic keys rom, orchestral rom, strings rom banks + the KB3 bank which actually includes some synth sounds and GM drum sets, so it's not really purely a KB3 bank.

Anyway, Since each of those have 128 sounds, I think it counted it 768 presets.

Basically to *really* to understand it, somekind of a videoturial would be in place. I mean it's an analog synth, which has algorithms like saw, sine, lowpass etc... Then the LFO stuff. So building up stuff from those is the thing. I just don't really know much of those things yet.
