There is a rule in athletics you don't overtake on the last left laneif some one is there you go to the side and the lane is enough only for one person not two person. I cannot believe the idiotic comments on this incident. Yes, the Spanish runner should be disqualified. Mainly, because she stepped outside of the field of play along the inner track. As far as the contact goes, the runner who fell was fading and drifted into the contact.
There is no reason to ban Rodriguez from the sport and there is no reason the the impoverished state of Africa and it's atheletes should enter into the discussion.

I totally agree, as a potential athlete you work your entire life for a moment like this, a chance to win gold. We don't know if Gelete would ultimately have own, but that's beside the point. Because of a dirty move by Natalia, she lost a chance at history, something that can never be given back.

I do not think that she pushed her. They were crowding each other and when Burka starts to fall Rodriguez places her arm out in a "knee jerk" fashion as almost anyone would do if someone was about to trip near them. Its clear Burka tripped on her own feet before Rodriguez put her arm out.

Lo 1º que te enseñan (o deberian) al preparar un 1500 es a defender la cuerda por la calle 1, y no entre la calle1 y la 2 como hace la etiope,hay hueco mas que suficiente para pasar. y claro que hay que meter los codos pero la etiope ya no podia con el alma, ya se la estaban comiendo las demas y no pudo aguantar el empujon, si no mirar el video de Fermin Cacho en barcelon92 y veis xdonde defienden la cuerda y x donde pasa Fermin.
