Typical one-sided Windustry funded propaganda from the BBC. What Craven doesn't mention is the cost per KW is about 10x that of conventional power. And it's the poor energy bill payers & shivering pensioners who are forced to fund this lunacy via inflated energy bills. Furthermore a Spanish study showed every taxpayer-subsidised green-job costs 2.2 jobs in the real economy. Oh, and fossil fuels aren't 'running out'. We have enough shale gas in Blackpool alone to last 50 years.
@MMGWsceptic but fossils are fucking the planet up. All anti-wind power arguments are centred around cost. If we can't cap the energy we use then why not use an in-exhaustible supply? How can that not make sense?
@Rwecosher It's thanks to cheap fossil fuels that we enjoy a high standard of living & long life expectancy. Before cheap energy life for the poor was short & hard. As people become richer they take better care of their environment - creating national parks & preserving wild habitats - since they are no longer struggling just to survive. By contrast the wind lobby is seeking to make energy more expensive & tearing up the countryside & erecting thousands of 200m-high industrial wind turbines.
@KharamiSunato In the UK there have been 71 fatalities & 945 serious accidents at windfarms since 1990. Risks include: Blade failure, ice throw, fire & construction. Not to mention the thousands of rare birds of prey killed every year by turbines.
All power generation schemes have their own risks and environmental impacts. It's a matter of weighing those risks & impacts against the benefits of the energy produced.
For wind it's huge cost & environmental impact for negligible energy.

Wind is purely clean...no one dies and Everyone lives. wow, imagine that. is sanity and safety and security worth it? In my opinion, Yes!
