In my opinion that would destroy the idea behind the hootnaany, its the idea of getting everyone together to play a song together where everyone is the lead singer, the guitarists, the bassist and drummer and other instruments brought with them. Plus, Scott has his talent that separates him from Matt, and vice versa. Scott might sound out of place on this song. But Matt would sound out of place from Scotts beginning on bass till now. But like I said...prob just me...
and in finishing, with my opinion, having brian sing helps promote the everyone can be anyone in the band premise of this live show. Since nobody is seen doing what they would normally do, I.e. brian singing lead and rivers singing back up(Most the time) the crowd feels comfortable just jumping in and having fun. Please, don't be so critical. You can if you want to be. But please don't. Thats also ruining all that is Weezer: un-standardized music.

No, they put up a message on their site telling fans what songs to learn, how to play them, and that they should show up with any instrument at all!!! How cool is that! This is why I love Weezer so much.
Brian does sing better than Rivers, plus he's multi-instrumental, he does all the extras at their live shows. heck out al hat he does for The Greates Man that ever Lived. He's super talented!!!!

Well, he didn't used to be, Rivers used to always sing this song. But Brian sang it during the Hootenanny Tour as well as Weezer's past tour. :o)
