The problem with Black Panther being batman is the fact that he is not. BP is a king of an african country, Batman is some rich trust fund brat. BP doesnt instill fear to enemies. There are similarities when it comes to prep time but that is it.

There is only 3 true black superheros & that was Blade, storm, & Spawn. And storm wasn't even the main character in X-men. It was most likely Wolverine & Green Lantern was originally white~~~so he doesn't count. Catwoman is actually a white woman~~~so she doesn't count as well. So my whole answer is there isn't No black superheros beside Blade & Spawn & their comic books weren't popular at all. War machine wasn't independent he was just basically a Ally of Iron Man

Other black superheroes: Blade, Bishop, Static Shock, Cyborg, Mohammed Ali (which shared a comic issue with Super Man), Nick Fury (played by Sam L. Jackson), Cloak (of Cloak & Dagger), Deathlok (soon to be a movie), Luke Cage, Falcon....

Nick Fury was in the film 'Iron Man' plus there is a upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. movie starring him. Blade had three films. Deathlok the film is in working progress. Luke Cage is in the talks of a film. Static Shock, Cyborg, Blade, and Bishop were cartoon characters.
