Some Chinese people want to be objective, while majority of western and japanese media would even deliberately try to distort facts to tarnish the image of China. You want to play fair game while most of the time China remains the victim of subjective western media. Your status is almost only as good as the image of your motherland. It takes long time and hard PR work to build a positive image of your country, but it takes very little to tarnish it.
