I've been campaigning for LGBT equality for a while now. Equality is the key word, though. Everyone has freedom of though, speech and expression: if people are homophobic, racist, sexist etc then that is their choice. it becomes unnaceptable when people hurt, frighten, taunt, torture, even kill people because of those beliefs. What we are fighting for is for inclusion into CURRENT hate crimes legislation. There are already laws in place protecting certain social groups that have an abundance of hate related crime commited against them. It seems completely absurd to me that it wouldnt be a natural next step to include the LGBT community in the legislation seeing as how the hate crime rate for our community is among the highest of all the social groups.

Everyone, Every group Proffession, Career Military Status, salary, Religion, Race, National Origin, Creed, Handicapped, Sexaul Preference, Gender, color of hair, age, and any other social group that can have bias agianst. All should be covered, so this would make every crime a hate crime.

But we need to change the current legislation to include all crimes and make them all equal... Until they can integrate a policy that makes them all the same we have to change the current laws to include the social groups that have been left out

people tend to think a person is only what he/she can see on him or her or something striking on the other person. For example, gays are different on a sexual way, so: they will be imagined as sex maniacs. Jews are different in religion: so they are imagined as more religious people.

Thank you for this video... I wish that the discremination of gay people (including myself) didn't exsist. It's still hard to believe that I only lived 45 minutes away from where Matthew Shepard was killed... It saddens me that there are people like that out in the world and it makes me extremly sorry for the people of the world that are like that. Most are taught at a very young age that being gay is not right... it's the people that teach them that it is not right that I dislike.

I agree that there is a lot of hatred toward gays in certain circles. But there is just as much hatred for Christians in some circles too. As you preach tolerance for gays, be careful not to demonstrate a lack of tolerance for religious people. Tolerance is a good thing, for all.
