@Solvemeister kind of was and kind of wasn't - he was referring to people not having any RTS experience until SC2 came out and they picked it up. he's talking about sc2 beta, sc1, wc3,...etc. Some pros have been in the RTS genre for years and years.(Moon, for example)

That shoulders thing is true for a lot of things.

Beginner Runners - will raise hands up nearer chest as they tire or have to work hard on hills, constricting breathing rather than aiding.

Motorcyclists - experiencing an oh shi! Moment will tense up and their arms will stiffen, instead of remaining loose and able to respond to the developing issue.

it almost never helps, no idea why the human body is programmed to do it but it happens for loads of things.
