Dude, with that sound, how can anyone not just sit back and want to play that lick like 800 times in a row (well, until your neighbors shoot you or the cops show up *lol). Fucking glorious tone.
The sound is too woody. It needs the Strat "twang" which comes from those mid range overtones. The woodiness of the LP overpowers those overtones.
I've experimented with this track using an Axis Super Sport, and a PRS Custom 22, Strat, and the tone's still too woody. It sounds best on my '57 Re-issue (with Kent Armstrong p/ups). On my G&L Classic Bluesboy, it's too much. The track should be mellow, and Tele's don't really do mellow.
Good playing, though. I'd like to hear some jammed licks.
sounds great man,but ill take my Fender any day,I have a les paul custom, bought it brand new 30 years ago, they sound great but i was sold on the fender tone a long time ago,BTW great playing, sounds real good ,peace
I sang while you played so my friend got so stoked he suggested I should video myself in sync to your great playing. I told him, I'm not worthy, but we'll see. I also "favorite-ed" you! :)
10 through 46 New Dunlop Strings. I think it's because I'm using the bridge pickup. Listen to my other clips that are using the neck, and you'll see what I mean.

that song has a lot of overdrive anyways, and his strat sounded kind of humbucker-ish. for that riff anyways.

The tone is absolutely great. It should have more sustain for this song, though. But great job, man!

The Bridge of Sighs tour in the early 70's (Winterland) inspired me to play. Guitars ringing like bells. What a sound. Nicely done

robin used both a fender amp and a marshall together to get his sound. or a marshall head with a fender cab. nice tone tho
crazystratcat 3 years ago
Sounds much better than the fender. I had one 20 years ago, and even with the bridge humbucker it sucked. You should try some backing track.

Very good job. Good tone as well.
I don't have a Fulltone Deja-Vibe yet, but I have the Fulltone OCD and the Deja-Vibe in stereo is next. Also a Robin Trower Strat! Woo-hoo!
