If anyone knows a good site where you can order (USA) a rat cage thats good size, good shape, good floor, and CHEAP. I'd <3 a link. I'm getting my first rats in October.
The cage has 6 six rats, all girls, named Treacle, Charlotte, Doughnut, Tinkerbell, Pepper & Mustard. I bought it online from a company called zooplus.
Yes, rats do get lonely without ratty company. They are a lot happier and more confident when they have another rat to snuggle up to and play with when you can't give them attention.

I dont think they are cramped the smaller the cage the more secure they feel

Ive tried having cloth hanging things inside my rats cages and they always rip them up in days, any advice? or do i have i keep buying new items =(

Unfortunately rats can be destructive little monsters. My rats have hammocks made of cheap tea towels just folded and hung up with paper clips.
