I'm a little confused about the last part where it is mentioned that there are 7 earths. Does that mean there are 7 planets or is it referring to the continents or what? Please clarify.

The correct translation is not "seven earths". It is "seven heavens"

The Prophet (saw) said, each heaven is like a ring in a desert compared the size of the next heaven

A thing that was mindboggling for people of old to understand.

But today we can appreciate such fantastic sizes. Earth is a spec compared to the solar system, which is a spec compared to the galaxy, which is a spec compared to star systems, which is a spec compared to the universe

What exactly a "heaven" is, only Allah knows
