  • well done, but dammit synths still can't emulate trumpets very well, not to mention marcato strings and sforzando on brass.

  • Gemessen daran, welch vergleichsweise simples Equipment für die Klänge benutzt wurde, ist das Ergebnis geradezu umwerfend gut. Bin schwer beeindruckt.

  • uhm... pretty nice work there... I wonder how this would sound with Sibelius RSE?

  • how many ram does that need i mean i played 24 instruments (gariitan) in my computer and it freezes mos of the time and i got 760 mb ram

  • also, near the middle / end did I see piccolo an G flute? You wrote an Alto Flute part???

  • this is my favorite all time "Classical" song. It combines everything I love!

    Thanks for synthing it!

  • one minor edit:

may want to consider the time signature on the opening: it is a little slower.

  • otherwise, would love it if you posted a .mid file of it so we can mess around with arrangements on finale and other stuff.

  • lol you mean tempo? Time signatures don't change anything in terms of the actual notes alone...

  • Hi goodcommentguy,

which flaws in speed do you mean? You may have to take this up with the composer, as I just followed exactly the instructions in the score. I admit I would have to apply a more musical and free timing at some point - that would be due to the individual interpretation.

But I do not understand what that has to do with "computed music". The music is not computed, it is a "normally composed" music, just being played on synthesizer.

  • This is awesome but it is NOT a symphony!!!!

  • Hi, goodcommentguy,

of course you are right. But I did not name this piece - the composer Tan Dun named it a symphony. I know that a symphony usually has 4 movements, which have particular forms. But Tan Dun has decided to call this particular piece "Internet Symphony" - so I stick with this title.

  • Indeed. I, however, notice several speed flaws in the whole entire composition, but I suspect that is usual in computed music.

  • @goodcommentguy

Although it does not follow the traditional symphonic form, one may call it a symphony if they wished.

People originally said Beethoven's third symphony was not a symphony, same applies with some of Mahler's symphonies.

    Matthew

  • Hi Matthew,

    thanks!

The music took about one week to record. I could have perfected it, if I had spent another week at it. There are many details that can be tweaked.

    Reinhold

  • Hi Reinhold,

i am sure you can do it better if you got one more week~

but what you did is really amazing, is effortless, is awesome =]

    No doubt about it

  • Amazing, probably took you forever to make.

  • Actually it took a week - but all in evening / night hours only. Could be better if I would spend another week, to do some more fine tuning.

  • Totally outstanding! that was such a great thing!.. I enjoyed every second.. thank you so much =)

  • Thanks - I am very glad that you like it!

  • Tolle Interpretation !

Geht das auch mit dem Titel : "He´s a Pirate" aus Fluch der Karibik ;-) ?

Das würde ich mir dann gerne downloaden.

  • Hi Tati,

im Prinzip ja - ich brauche nur die Noten, d.h. die gesamte Partitur.

    Viele Gruesse, Reinhold

  • Bravo Reinhold!

Excellent job on this symphony. More! More!

    Gary

  • Thanks, Gary - glad you like it!

I am preparing another piece right now, using the Personal Orchestra Steinway Piano... am just editing the video, should be up here in the next few days.

I am having a few problems installing the update of the Kontakt Player, but that appears to be due to some weird behavior of my PC... that is why I am still using the version 1.2 of the Personal Orchestra.

    Cheers,

    Reinhold

  • Ni hao,

Sozusagen ein ganzen Orchester am Computer generiert. Das hat sehr viel arbeit gemacht!
