When she died, I stopped watching. In the end O.C just got to dark. Without Merissa for me it just wasn't O.C. But I'll always remember the very first episode when she was waiting outside the house and Ryan first met her. :(

Well Marissa/Micsha Barton basically quit the show, so somehow they had to get rid of her.  I guess they could have just sent her off to be with her Dad, you're right. Maybe Micsha Barton really had a bad relationship with the producers that they knew she would never come back for a guest appearance so they just killed her off with her approval.

Mischa Bartoon has said a lot of times that she didn't quit the show!

When she found out that her character was going to get killed she cried a lot!

The killed her thinking that they were going tho have better ratings but...they were tottaly wrong! Marissa was one of the most important things in the oc and yes...she had to much drama in the third season but they could have had another idea!

So, I think Mischa was already planning to leave, but anyways, I miss the OC:(

@ashiinthehouse that isn't true. she left the show to persue her modeling head on and the show was just to get her off the ground but it took off and got really popular so when she got famous enough to be a really wanted model she quit. that was released when she left the show.
