No entiendo como el propietario del vido no ha rectificado aun el nombre del cantante que aparece en el video, claramente no es Paul Robeson, ni su fisico ni su voz. Pienso que hay que ser mas riguroso a la hora de postear videos, un error lo tiene cualquiera , pero este error ya esta demasiado tiempo sin rectificarse, Forocriticocultural espabilate ya de una vez. This is from the MGM musical "Til the Clouds Roll By"- a great movie about the life of Jerome Kern. The Frank sinatra version is then at the end.

I have about three copies on DVD - but lost all the covers in a flood, to OLD MAN RIVER!

I'm not sure of the name of this man, but it's from "Til Theclouds Roll By" 1946- I got it first at a dollar store- lots of great numbers.

This is the Paul Robeson version indeed, very good but not as good as the William Warfield version.

It's a crime youtube removes great works of art for the sake of some criminal business companies who try to get some money out of the copyrights.

This art was meant for the public, not to make money on it.

Same as the works of Van Gogh locked in the safe of Japanese banks as a money investment.

The singer is William Warfield and it is from the 1951 version of "Showboat", a movie that had also Agnes Moorehead, Ava Gardner, Leif Erickson, Kathryn Grayson and Howard Keel, among others.

if you have the 1951 version of showboat you will come to realise that this is the same guy as in the film (william warfield). granted his voice became lower in 1962 just before he hit broadway...where this is!!!

so cut him some slack
