  • That was the longest roadrailer i have ever seen...lol

  • Awesome video, keep it up!

  • Thanks for all the comments Joey!

  • How many trains would you say would be normal?

  • Right now, I would say that somewhere between 75 and 95. I just got a recent count this last Friday and I only got 85. I think I was just a little unlucky though. I got 97 on a friday last year.

  • Dude?!?!?! Are you saying that you see betweeb 75 & 95 trains per day? DANG!!!! I am lucky if I see 6 trains a day where I am at. & two of those 6 trains are Amtrak's east and westbound California Zephyrs.

  • Thats what Im sayin.....:D :D This place is wicked, and beautiful, and insane, and king sized too. heh, Im kinda weird

  • There's now way you see 95 trains in one track for the entire day.

  • Oh its two track.... and I definately saw 95. I can give you the list if you want

  • O my gawd dude, I am like major jelous now, lol

  • Whoa, you caught the H3 GP60B, 332, on the first train!!

  • whoa! didn't even realize :D

  • my old man works for bnsf and he was saying that the dpu is because of how long the stack trains are they now 4 up front and 2 at end.

  • what's with the DPU's on flat ground a high speeds?

  • I always thought they were just for more control. Somebody told me on this trip that they were used to prevent putting to much pressure on individual cars around curves. I never thought of it that way, but it makes sense. At high speeds, the forces pulling on the cars around curves is tremendous.

  • CSX is now experimenting with DPU's over the old Clinchfield, even though there are only a couple of places that require pushers (hence the current practice of manned pusher "districts"). However, the use of DPU over the entire line also helps the train keep up track speed even on hills where pushers are not necessary. They hope this will shorten trip times and increase track volume.
