I can sum up this video and Band in one word "Awesome". I just learned about Carbon Leaf less than a month ago. I must have been lost somewhere. My favorite is "Desperation Song" and "What About Everything".
Is it just me or was "Indian Summer" their best album by a lot? I havent explored too much, if there is a fan out there who knows another album that sounds like Indain Summer, let me know!
@unitas9 I have every album, before and after Indian Summer, Take a look at how the west was one and Nothing rhymes with woman, there good cds, How the West was One is there newest and is the first cd released as an independent band because they just recently dropped their record label. How the west was one is more close to Indian Summer then Nothing Rhymes with Woman but both equally awesome! Hope this helps
I saw and listened to Carbon Leaf for the first time in Knoxville on April 14 with Toad The Wet Sprocket. My family and I came to see Toad The Wet Sprocket, but we had an even better time watching Carbon Leaf. I met all of the band members, and (as a fellow bassist) I was especially excited to meet the bassist. They were EXTREMELY nice, and the singer even signed the CD I got. I've only been to a few concerts (I'm 13) and that concert was probably th most fun I've been to. God Bless Carbon Leaf.
I finally got to see this beautiful band at the Shamrock Fest. RFK, March 12,2011.
Once is not enough!! Now I want more than ever to see them again in a cozier setting. Love these guys. Agree with all the comments. Virginia's best kept secret. I am now an official groupie and direct from Virginia myself! Go Guys. Wish you all the very best!!
Carbon Leaf has always been overlooked...Decent guys like these aren't "good enough" or "don't cause any drama" for mainstream music apparently....but I'll tell ya; that's complete crap. lady gaga, kesha, and those other morons can screw off...we have Carbon Leaf.
they have been on tour i saw them in pittsburgh at duquesne live with stephen kellog and the sixers, and right before then a local band went and they were pretty good the band was called my cardboard spaceship adventure.
yorker! that was a tragedy within itself i wish that he would have thought through with his actions and when i first saw this video it didn't reach me that this was days after that but now i see that it was linked to that and i wish all of the families a good live and we will grief over this with them
I was at that show and it was awesome! They def gave everyone a reason to smile for a day and forget about the horrors from just days before. One of the best concert experiences of my life and one I will remember forever.
And when Carter punished that Rail on stage...Funniest shit ever.
oh man i was surprised to see a video on here. carbon leaf is SERIOUSLY underrated. they deserve so much more..but perhaps they're happy with how they are now. i just wish they;d come back to richmond and play..ive been in the hospital for a year so.. they're one of my favorite bands. ive seen them over 20 times live..which is a lot for a social misfit like me. lol. i just hope barry cut his hair by now..god he kinda looks like tom hanks in cast away.. :P
The first time I saw these guys was the day I realized I needed glasses. At the end of their concert I was standing in a line not realizing it was to meet the band. I got to the front and didn't even recognize them. I was the nervous blind girl in Spokane a few years ago! Nice to meet you all! I've gotten glasses since then!
oh man i think i saw you there lol i was in spokane seeing them there for the first time too! wow what a couincadince. i was the red haird dude getting my ticket stub signed lol =D
They did a few songs from their new CD, Another Man's Woman, will get your attention right from the beginning...is this an autobiogaphcal statement from someone...Barry, Barry?
The blew it out on the Boxer, such a powerful song and better live!
Come down to DC for Shamrock Fest next weekend and see them for $25 bucks along w/Scythian & FLogging Molly!
I just saw them @ The Rams Head on-Stage in Annaplois...what a great show...they talked about their new CD in May and touring afterwards...they played for two plus hours with no break!
Did they play anything from their new cd or from the movie they did If you got any videos of that i would love to see them im from wisconsin and i dont see them much since touring have stoped because of the new cd and movie... :)
they are awesome in concert! I have seen them a few times in concert myself, they have an excellent sound even out of the recording studio, which is hit or miss for a lot of bands.
Love this band. Saw them for the first time when opening up for Big Head Todd and the Mosters and they were amazing. One of those great bands that sounds as good live as they do on a cd. This song is one of my favorites. My kids can even sing along.
Barry(the singer) is a very cool guy, met him in 2005 when they opened for Blues Traveler in Spokane, carismatic and very talented just like the rest of his band. Cant wait to see them live again.
This song is absolutely amazing in it's simplicity, and the band is a group of wonderful guys. Kudos to them for dedicating this song to those hurt or killed in the VT shooting. I hope that all those effected are doing ok even though life will never be the same. Good luck to all.
My cousin was a freshman when this happened...I am a 2001 alum...and one of my professors was killed...I was deeply saddened by the events on 16 April, but seeing Carbon Leaf dedicate this particular song was touching. Great band...Great song...GO HOKIES
Great song, video and post. So sad that the shooting happened.
Guns kill people.
It is possible to live in a developed country with rights and safe society without being armed to the teeth courtesy of your local Walmart "sports" department. Here when people go to a sporting goods store the most dangerous item you can buy is a hurley .... not a pump action shot gun or a baretta.
people kill people.. period. what happened was terrible but no matter what you do... bad things happen. our right to own firearms is not for sporting it is for protection, protection those students and teachers were forbidden to have. i am a gun owner and i am proud of it. to call me anything but a patriot and an american is insulting.
I can sum up this video and Band in one word "Awesome". I just learned about Carbon Leaf less than a month ago. I must have been lost somewhere. My favorite is "Desperation Song" and "What About Everything".
