  • any air compressor that marked OIL-LESS are useless, if you want a good compressor, get a compressor that uses oil, not those oil-less junk!!

  • Thanks for posting this. It helps me to see it done. I have a question. I have a similar model. However, compared to your repaired unit mine is extremely loud. Any ideas?

  • @351cleavland -I turned the sound back on the video a little, and YouTube may have "auto-turn-it-downed" on top of that.

These are loud air compressors, I always wear hearing protection when I use mine.

  • I have the exact same model as yours but mine the motor died.

  • @ruizhernandeztrustfi Be sure to check the electrical switches before throwing it out.

  • @PovertyLabs

Thanks for your response. Everytime the motor starts sparks comes from the inside of the motor in all directions. A friend of mine works repairing electrical motors and he will repair mine so my air compressor will back in business soon. I've checked the piston, piston rod, belt and ring seal and all parts are in good condition. Once I repair the air compressor I'll let you know. Thanks for your interest.

  • 49.00 TO MUCH IN PARTS...JUNK! Just because you fix it long enough to sell dont mean its reliable....IT WILL FAIL AGAIN A.S.A.P. Sears compressors are junk now...throw it in the trash were they all belong and buy an oil/belt design compressor and dont worry about it failing when you need it most!. This is a patch not a repair.

  • Wondering where you found just the piston "ring" seal by itself. All my attempts online say that you have to buy the entire rod/piston/seal/sleve lit for close to $50. All I need is the piston "ring" seal by itself. So if you have a part number and vendor name, please share.

    Thanks,

    Jim

  • @jrprich I just looked at the page where I ordered from -searspartsdirect Has changed things a little. If you look at the parts pages for VERY similar model numbers, they do list a part number for a sleeve kit, but they do not have a price listed, and suggest that one calls customer support for availability. You might find some success by calling them at 1-800-252-1698, suggesting you only want a sleeve kit for your model number, and offering your patience during a search for compatibility

  • i just got 1 of these and it wont stay on it cuts off and on by its self and i cant figure out why if u could write me back and let me know thanks nikk

  • @8ball537

Alot of questions on this video seem to be pointing toward check valve problems -if you were to disconnect the copper tube at the tank from the compressor, and see if runs longer disconnected -you may also have a check valve issue which may be causing the motor to overheat and shutdown.

  • HEY WHATS UP ? I JUST BOUGHT ONE OF THESE OIL LESS COMPRESSOR ITS A 30 GALLON 5 HP 150 PSI. IT TAKES FOREVER TO FILL UP. I BOUGHT IT USED FROM A FRIEND DO U THINK ITS DAMAGE OR SOMETHING. I HAVENT YET KEPT IT ON LONG ENOUGH TO HIT 150 PSI BUT IT TAKES ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO GET TO 100 PSI

  • @DAGSRSTINKS

I timed my compressor last night: 0 to 150psi in 6.5 minutes- something is probably not right w/ yours.

You may have a leaky/not sealing properly something -the check valve is easy to look at, and has to be detached from the compressor if you need to go further anyway.

  • @DAGSRSTINKS THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY WELL THANKS TO YOUR VIDEO I TOOK MY COMPRESSOR APPART AND FOUND THAT THE VALVE BLOCK HAS THIS LITTLE PLATE THING KINDA LOOKS LIKE A 3 LEAF CLOVER WELL THAT WAS KINDA DAMAGE SO I WENT TO SEARS ORDERED A NEW BLOCK CAUSE THEY DONT SELL THAT LITTLE PIECE SEPARATE. ILL GIVE YOU AN UPDATE AS SOON AS I INSTALL IT THANKS AGAIN

  • @DAGSRSTINKS inherently the oiless sys has a magor flaw theres no oil so the piston and rings are prob. f*ct i had one it was a 2 cyl ti sucked so bad i took it a part to make a beter one =3-

  • Thanks for the video. I have this compressor as well. My problem is that it won't pressurized to the desired Psi. It sounds and runs fine. However it will only pressurized the tank to 60 psi. I replaced the regulator but to no avail. I suppose I'll have to take it apart and inspect. What do u think is wrong. Gasket failure maybe?

  • @Johnny5liter

In between the compressor and the tank is a copper line that you can see in the video, the copper line attaches to the tank through a check valve that can also be seen clearly in this video -the check valve is always the first thing to look at if things aren't working properly. There is a spring inside of it that could be broken, it could be dirty, the seal surface damaged or whatever. Google "test check valve air compressor" may be helpful.

  • nice,i got a 15G craftsman oil less compressor hope it dont go out on me

  • @hp11208 -If it starts to sound "weird" -in my case, like a metal-on-metal jackhammer, SHUT IT OFF!

  • Hey nice video. I like how detailed you are.

Im curious...do you do this type stuff for a living? And if so what type of school do you need to go to in order to work on this type stuff for a living? Its very interesting to me.

Btw, I think your laundry is done. Or maybe you have two guys playing ping pong behind you at the end of the video :D

  • @1NpcKiller

I did not go to a school for either fixing crap, or attempting to make instructional videos. -I've done a FEW other instructionals in past. I imagine someone is making a living at it, but once one starts demo-ing stuff that one is not really familiar with -I imagine the quality would suffer greatly!

-I wish it was laundry, or people playing ping-pong in the background!
