Lots of fond memories of this game. Those last two levels used to give me trouble all the time. Speaking of which. 2:20 am I the only one that kinda wanted those two statues to come to life instead of the other ones that were in the empty spots before that was just the same enemies from throughout the whole game? I mean, I could see those two statues kicking my ass like I'm a total noob, but I'd still wanna fight them. o.o

the music was fucking awesome even in the gameboy advance version!!!!!! What i liked the most was riding the dragons and the lizard thingies.

I thought that this game was pretty hard compared to others. But the biggest thing I hated was that I loved the dwarf, but it seemed like he was the worst character because he could only hold 4 magic vials. When the woman could just stock up her's and own with the dragon. I like characters with different skills and stuff, but I hate when one character appears to simply be better than the rest.

This game had me held up at the arcades for hours just watching older players going further than I could at the time. Loved all the characters.

hehe, for some weeks ago me and my friend played this co-op... it did not go very well xD

I hit his character by accident and then he started hitting mine and things went a bit out of controll in the game xD

@FreDaN92 rofl that's what this game is known for HAHA because the characters become disabled for an annoying time. I used to do "the combo" slowly against my friend and if ur fast enough, u can finish with a pinpoint hahaha (i finished it too many times on genesis)

kNIGHTWING01 this is the best review of the Genesis version of Golden Axe that I've seen on Youtube. All the other reviews pale in comparison. I really liked your enthusasm for the aspects of the game you like. Thanks!

(yes of course the System 16 Arcade version is much better in graphic detail, color, animation and sound, and you can play it on XBLA).

I hope Nintendo offers a Wii Virtual Arcade soon so we can play some of the classic arcade games including both arcade Golden Axe games.

The last boss took me weeks before I could beat him back then. But when you know what you're doing he is not so tough. Try Revenge of Shinobi : now that was one piece of impossible game to complete.

great review Kwing i have heard and think i have played Golden Axe when i was a kid, but its great to see a review of it.

though i can't wait to see the next gen Golden Axe i don't believe its going to suck but what is its probably its only the female character will be playable not Gullidus and Axe.

looks like a fun game but still the next gen Golden Axe is not going to be that bad? heck it might even be as good as the classic ones.

I don't see why you poop on games for being rated M. Some of the best/funnest games ever are rated M. Infact, I would like to see the new Icarus game to be M rated. Probably not gonna happen, but I personally think it would have more potential if it did. Not saying it would be better, but would have more options.

Hey kNIGHTWING01, This was one of my favorite old school sega games and I liked the sequels as well. I remember beating it and how happy I was cause I kept getting my butt kicked and when I finally won I gave a victory cry like no 2mrw. Of course I was 10 years old XD This was a great review but then again all your reviews are great IMO and you sir are very talented. Keep up the great work my friend. Good gaming and God speed ^_^
