Showing by example like this is one of the best ways, as long as there is frequent dialogue to test their understanding of each situation and why, for instance, 2 similar corners may be approached/taken in different positions. @zypp33 thanks for commenting and you are absolutely right- practically all motorcycle skills take time to master and i agree that testing the rider's understanding is vital- in case their understanding is different to the principles being taught.
there is little point simply demonstrating certain techniques without an objective overview- hence why it is so important to have an instructor cast an encouraging yet constructively critical eye on your riding
