This song never fails in making my eyes mist over when I hear it. It's so damn powerful on it's own, and yet when you combine it with the few short scenes it plays in during the game it become nearly overwhelming.
I honestly don't think we'll see a game with nearly half of Okami's emotional impact for a very long time.

One of the most beautiful themes in game. The theme fits the celestials so well; it sounds gentle and elegant in some parts, and in other parts like the one starting at 0:50 make them appear strong and bold.
@MasatoHyuga Since you're actually kind about it and not saying something like "BRONIES ARE GAY FURFAGS WITH NO LIFE", the reason My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has a huge following is because the show is suprisingly amazing. It's nothing like those horrible previous generations (Generation 3.5 ... ಠ_ಠ). It features great voice acting, stunningly awesome animation, and BGM that rivals Steven Speilberg's best works. I hate the fact that I looked up okami music again at a time like this.. I have to work with my exams now, but I got this huge urge to play after I listened to the music again.. After the exams I will go through the game for the 5'th time.

The goddess of the sun let me see you shine. It's too late for that you can see just what has happened to the precious body of mine. Ive been dead for a hundred years or so in hopes that I'd be safe in the ark of Yamato. But instead I was sure that I'd be dead when everyone I knew had bled. i believe that theres only 1 god. and thats not amaterasu. its the one in the bibles. but this game is just so heart warming and takes a good look at the enviroment

Just as the gods are the spiritual beings of our Light, Darkness, Yami, draws power from the evil within us all. We are all part of the Light and the Dark. The Sacred Balance between the two forms the Taijitsu, the Ultimate. Without the many, there is no One. The many exist within the One and the One is us. I.E. Gods and Yami are the result of our culture and ergo are in the image of man.

@sicilysykosalvatore Ammy, being in the same level of fictional character as jesus or any other god, actually did soemthing for me, unlike these gods do for people who pray to them, she gave me the chance to experience one of the best games ever, and I learned quite a few things from it as well. I am an atheist, but I gotta admit that sometimes I wish there was a god as benevolent as ammy to stand up to the cooked sadistic gods that humanity worships nowadays
@Jorgenitaliko Hate it when people screw this sort of thing up... it's very rude to compare gods and goddesses to one another. At least in my honest opinion. I believe, from my understanding, Amaterasu wouldn't really be out there battling or even standing up to the other gods. While she is the main diety and commands a lot of respect, I'm rather certain she has to remain on the Heavenly Plain, because she is the sun. If she got closer, she would burn the planet and destroy it by accident.
@sicilysykosalvatore If you think long and hard about it, there's no much difference between ammy and the any other god out there, since they were both the creation of man, and I know that amaterasu is part of shinto, but that is widely known as mithology, legends that have been passed down in japanese culture, so if you're influential enough, of course you could start a religion over it. I for one would be a follower, amaterasu (in the game) actually cared for the world and fought to restore it

Then they made it cute, selected none other than Amaterasu to be the main character in Okami to defeat the darkness, ect. Anyways, you are quite right. Perhaps a smarter suggestion would be a combo of both money and prayer. Especially prayer for those that just don't have the money to give, like me, as I haven't had a job in two years.

@OreoC00kie259 I know exactly what Amaterasu is in mythology and I have done my own decent set of research, but as beautiful as it is, I dont think that a goddess in fiction should be associated with the death of thousands. It's menial and too tragic to pray to fictionous characters.

It really can't be described through words. You need to play it yourself to find out. I've been playing games for over a decade, and never have I become so enraptured with a game as I was with Okami.
That being said, there are undoubtedly those who hate it. However, in my humble opinion, it is certainly something to look up. Sooner than later, preferably - the game has been discontinued, and is something of a rarity now.
Well, perhaps not online, but I've only ever seen it on store shelves once. I don't think it was produced in large number or highly advertised, so there's only so many circulating now - a number which will decrease as they meet players who aren't willing to part with them aftre playing them.

Though it is a HAPPY thing that you were able to hear it again, you have obviously been MOVED by the sad fact that the celestials lost their powers and separated from one another, and was in AWE when you witnessed the powers they possessed.

Alright guys, THE CELESTIALS DID NOT DIE. They simply returned to The Celestial Plain. I'm probably not the first one to notice this, but remember that movement they made when they faded away and returned to the Celestial Plain? Sakuya did that same movement near the beginning, and she didn't die.
I have never loved a game so much. I cried my heart out when it ended... I have played it so many times I can recite each part word for word. Beautiful. Just listening to it makes my heart burst.
I weep bittersweet tears whenever I hear this. The first time the song managed to really permeate my mind, I was crying for hours. Such a terrible feeling of loss and fallen grandeur...
I'm just happy to know that I'm not alone in that feeling. This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard.

@TheSuperEricWarshot Amaterasu is actually part of Japanese Mythology, not just a game character. Amaterasu, Amaterasu-ōmikami or Ōhirume-no-muchi-no-kami is apart of the Japanese myth cycle and also a major deity of the Shinto religion. She is the goddess of the sun, but also of the universe. The name Amaterasu derived from Amateru meaning "shining in heaven." The meaning of her whole name, Amaterasu-ōmikami, is "the great August kami (god) who shines in the heaven".

@OreoC00kie259 I know exactly what Amaterasu is in mythology and I have done my own decent set of research, but as beautiful as it is, I dont think that a goddess in fiction should be associated with the death of thousands. It's menial and too tragic to pray to fictionous characters.
If all the people who died realized that people were praying to a deity nobody has believed in for hundreds of years, they would be very insulted.

I woke up early this morning with a sudden impulse to listen to Okami music and even though I beat this game two years ago, there's just something in this song that brought tears to my eyes. I guess that comes to show how wonderful and unforgetable this game truly is.

It really can't be described through words. You need to play it yourself to find out. I've been playing games for over a decade, and never have I become so enraptured with a game as I was with Okami.
That being said, there are undoubtedly those who hate it. However, in my humble opinion, it is certainly something to look up. Sooner than later, preferably - the game has been discontinued, and is something of a rarity now.

Well, perhaps not online, but I've only ever seen it on store shelves once. I don't think it was produced in large number or highly advertised, so there's only so many circulating now - a number which will decrease as they meet players who aren't willing to part with them aftre playing them.

It's lovely how many great lessons are in the video games I've played recently including Okami and a game called Fragile Dreams, Farewell Ruins of the Moon. ^-^
I wish I could convey them to people, but I need to practice at speaking, and I'm the only one in my family who really likes video games anyway.

I haven't played Okami in a while and was starting to forgot how moving, simply amazing, the music is. Coming across this song again brought tears to my eyes. I'm not even sure what kind of tears. Ones of happiness that I get to hear this again? Ones from my moved spirit? Ones of awe?

Though it is a HAPPY thing that you were able to hear it again, you have obviously been MOVED by the sad fact that the celestials lost their powers and separated from one another, and was in AWE when you witnessed the powers they possessed.

Alright guys, THE CELESTIALS DID NOT DIE. They simply returned to The Celestial Plain. I'm probably not the first one to notice this, but remember that movement they made when they faded away and returned to the Celestial Plain? Sakuya did that same movement near the beginning, and she didn't die.

I weep bittersweet tears whenever I hear this. The first time the song managed to really permeate my mind, I was crying for hours. Such a terrible feeling of loss and fallen grandeur...
