  • Loved it ~

  • Mark's voice... <3

If only I were a woman.

  • man, Gerry sure loves some chroma key...

  • geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek roooooooooooooooooooooooock!

  • Devo had to start somewhere, this is it, Russthealien

  • The col thing is that I think these are their kids in the video. Still years or even decades later Devo remains a creative genius force. All the elements still hold the signature Devo quirk. I love these guys.

  • I was the drummer in this video. What a blast! And I still know the whole song forwards and backwards.

  • @MrSammy2786 Very cool! It is a small internet. Do you know who directed this, by the way?

  • @sanspoint I'm 99% sure it was Chuck Statler. It's been a long time since the shoot though...

  • Did GVC do the video?

  • Woot...

  • A great song!!

  • Great piece. Funky, fun, surfy Devo is fine.

  • I think Gerald Casale was not involved.

They do sell this on itunes as

"DEVO as THE WIPEOUTERS" and it has a pic of Mark Mothersbaugh from the

    whip it video.

  • I played the Polynesian woman in the video. What fun!!!

  • Sounds like Love's "My Flash On You"!!

  • Short dude FTW!

  • P'twaaang!!! is a fun album!

  • I believe Devo was suffering under contractual issues at the time and couldn't release music under their own name in 2002. And so, The Wipeouters. I loved this album when it came out! Fits into the catalog nicely.

  • uke solo!

'tiny little surfboard mounted on wheels....' lol

  • Rocket Power!

  • :OO where the heck i pressed :D geek party?? xD

  • Great song - hope they do it live.

  • It's not really a Devo record, it's more of a Mutato Muzika project (which includes most of the Devo members who compose movie and TV scores).

  • @MrWoofington Sure, but "Mutato Muzika (which includes most of the Devo members who compose movie and TV scores) as 'The Wipeouters'" would be a really long title!

  • why the different drummers

  • Rocket powered and everything!!!

  • This is older than people really know: anyone else recognize Halle Berry dancing and wiggling,.... way back before she was too young to be anybody in Hollywood!?! Oh yeah!

  • I LOVE this.

  • I'm cool with DEVO doing just what they want, but what is with this fascination with kids?

DEVO is capable of so much in the likes of music, so why are they wasting their energies in stuff like this?

I admit I kind of like this song, but I'm really not interested in every buying the album because it just doesn't do anything for me artistically.

  • The kids probably represent themselves. When the real members met and formed The Wipeouters,... they were only between 13-15yrs old. Of course it didnt last but they reformed as DEVO,... ther ultimately recorded their first concept songs from way-back in their Wipeouter days!!! Very cool.. Ps. P'Twaaaang is quite weird & good! Its still Surf-Devo.

  • I sincerely hope you realize none of that is actually true. There was no such band as the "Wipeouters". The whole back-story is just a joke.

  • oh jeezus xrist this is good!

  • I'm with you! Surfin'Rockin'DEVO!*!*

  • Girls and children? If you see something wrong with that you have real issues man.

  • I really like all of the songs on this album.

  • Oh pooh pooh. Did Devo do what THEY wanted to do?

What exactly have you people been watching for 30 years? You think they do this for YOU?

Get lives, people, then ENJOY the DEVO.

  • Sad there are women wiggling in bikinis. DEVO should be way, way, way above that.

  • stop the de-evolution !!

  • and how disconcerting they put this girls right in the middle!

    kids + whores = fucked!

  • this video sucks ass!!! cant believe that devo produce this... what a shame i really love the devo stuff but this is a mess...

  • Big mess

  • YES!

  • The world needs DEVO now more than ever. Please, please, Spud Boys, do you duty NOW!

  • that's right

  • We're ALL DEVO.

  • That is F@ckin awsome

  • his dancing = awesome!

  • OK:

"he rides a tiny little surfboard mounted on wheels and he rides it like a _____14???

What are the lyrics there, I don't get it, are they referring to some type/style/size of surfboard?

Cool song, I was (still am) a BIG Devo fan and I just found the P'Twang album - way cool :-)

  • I believe he's saying "splitboard king"

  • After further listening, it might also be "skateboard king"

  • "...rides it like a skateboard king"maybe

  • Love the solo.

  • lil mark is so cool

  • This whole album is pretty awesome. I really recommend it.

  • skateboard king!!!!

  • funny midget on sc8 bord

  • Is that a fretless bass?

  • I like that kid being Mark.

(Anyone know who drummed and who in the band played bass when they originally formed?)

  • If you mean the original DEVO, the bassist was always Gerald Casale, and the original drummer was Jim Mothersbaugh, replaced by Alan Meyers.

If you mean the Wipeouters, Josh Mancell played drums; there was no bassist--it was Mark on keyboards.

  • I recall reading that Jerry is on the album in places but he's not a full member.

  • Ha mad

  • Surf's up DEVO!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA kritisizm is gud! -pozitivizism is negativ! <;~)

  • Comment removed

  • are those kids DEVO? or actors?

  • WOW! It doesn't get any better!!

  • Love The Bass Rift !

  • that was TOO sweet

  • sweet! thats the devo i know and love... woo hoo!

  • Hahaha I have The Wipeouters CD! It's some great stuff

  • Love this tune...

  • Sounds/looks like Wall Of Voodoo after Stan Ridgway left.

  • I wouldn't have even said after Stan left - with the compression taking out some of the finer tones, I'd have been hard pressed to say it wasn't Stan if I hadn't known.

  • I think I was initially thinking of that crazy post-Stan "Sammystown" LP that WOV did. But now that you mention it, it does kind of sound like Stan.

  • where the fuck did you find this?!

  • " remember when DEVO did stuff that didn't totally suck?" QFT.

  • remember when DEVO did stuff that didn't totally suck?

  • I'l love more info on this one!

  • ha, is that the first version of DEVO 2.0???

  • Bless you. Bless you. Bless you.

I don't believe in anything and I do believe you are genius.

    TsH

  • nice

  • devo can whip a horses behind

  • Where did you find this gem?
