  • Ya thanks alot !!! Now i want one ( lol ) Sweet machine...

  • @copterdoctor200 requires gasoline?

  • Squirrels are annoying they throw their food at you(nuts)

if i had that ah64 Apache I'd start shooting at them the moment i lift off

  • REAL

  • thats awesome...

  • How much does it costs?

  • DOES IT SHOOT HELLFIRE ROCKETS TOO!! LOLS DAMN THIS CHOPPA'S A BEAST...I WANT ONE..

  • fix that RC with a wireless camera and you can be a spy over your nabours.. :D

  • thats fucking crazy

  • Imagine. First Test Flight. All systems running perfectly when you hey a buzzing sound and a hind comes in. Your controller goes " beep beep beep beep beep Missle Incoming!" BOOM! Apache Gone.

  • Can it shoot?

  • do you have any bluprints on how to make?

  • i can see where the extra 30 million goes when u upgrade to the full sized

  • how big/long it is??

  • love the way the engine works before take off!

  • sorry, the fcr wasnt in place at the time this vid was shot.

  • well, the most well-known characteristic of the AH-64D is the Longbow radar antenna, and i dotn see one on this heli :-(

  • for the most part, rc helis in general require practice to master.

  • @copterdoctor200 Not if you just intend to kamikazee into a Pakis head. Just stick & Yaw + plenty of revs.

    Thankyou.

  • @copterdoctor200 So do real ones !!

  • Is it hard to fly?

  • my grandpa helped design the apache

  • @zeke554 Bullshit.

  • what's the price of this rc heli?

  • thanks man!!

  • THAT IS SO BADASS!!!!

  • fake. there is no pilot in iddd.

  • the fuselage kit can be found by typing in

    starwoodmodels

  • What's the worth of this RC Helicopter?

  • thats funny, i hope you are kidding.if you arent, then these so called toys are only for hobbyists responsible enough to know that they arent toys and can be dangerous and chasing people withthem is neither safe nor smart. many hours have been put into building this and many models and to risk the dangers of damaging them or hurting someone is not a way we see enjoying them

  • I am not allowed to play with radio controlled craft... a judge has banned me from doing so because I cannot resist chasing people with them. Thank you for helping my addiction.

  • now that is cool!

  • OMG that guy is HUGE!

  • Nice model!

  • what is the function of that tail thingie??

  • This little guy can pwn the world.

  • "Shit Enemy Bird Inbound"

  • now would someone plz build a RC Terrorist figure with a mini RC RPG to shoot at that RC Heli so we can start a new type of RC warfare in the park instead of playing video and computer game.

  • i would want to see birds shit on my house no only if i can find a way to attach a airsoft gun to that and shoot the birds

  • Simple WOOW !

  • Only problem is that the Taliban could hear that 50 miles away. Hahaha

  • Hey. I am on the look out for a nice R/C helicopter, but i cant find any decent apache models. im looking for helicopter in a price range of 450 - 550 USD, not to exspensive because i am not a RC fanatic.

  • AH64A apache

AH64D apache longbow, fcr or no fcr, the d model is a longbow.

if you look at the two in comparison, you will notice a few subtle physical differences

the dmodelhas a larger forward avionics bay, the air data sensors areon the engine nacelles, the strobe and nav lights are also on the engine nacelles and the stabilator has trimtabs on the trailing edge.

  • @copterdoctor200 Thanks! I do notice it now that you pointed it out, but isn't the FCR responsible for detecting threats while the actual chopper is below the tree lines and relaying them to other pilots as well? Or is does that all happen with the instruments inside?

  • @copterdoctor200 LOL i was about to post a comment like this I dont like the Alpha Wing The Delta wing apache is better in every way im shure u know :)

  • @copterdoctor200 you forgot that the longobw usually has the radar above the main rotor

  • Halalabun, its one of my favorites too and why i researched it.you should too and will see that the fcr on top does not make it a longbow, the avionics and capabilities that are different from the "A" model does. the mast mounted fcr does a very small portion of the job a longbow is capeable of.

  • That's just a regular Apache, not Apache Longbow, so it would actually be an AH-64.

No beef intended, it's just my favorite helicopter I just had to say something. :)

  • that is the coolest thing i ever seen thats realy awesome

  • hey dude if ya could when ya get the price figured out maybe we could discuss a payment option. message me back bro its so far the nicest ah-64 rc helo i seen yet. id kill for one of those.

  • @thisdrunkmonkey

too much info to post, more than the amount they give ya.

    emaiul me at copterdoctor20o4@yahoo

  • AHHH APACHE LAUNCH WE HAVE A 50ft HUMAN!!!

  • divinegod102, thanks man.

tangent123456, i would have to sit down and price everything i needed to finsih it to come up withy what it cost.

  • how much does the price go for that heli?

  • Imagine getting hit with those blades. You gotta be careful but overall the nicest RC piece I've seen so far.

  • fuselage is the approach engineering wood kit from starwood models

  • where did u buy it at becasue i want one really badly!

  • one of the drawbacks to nitro power, the smoke.

  • @copterdoctor200 and noise.

  • awesome bird! now you just have to construct some miniature hellfire...and nobody will mess with you again...

  • thanks for your comments guys

  • i see no longbow;)

  • @bhizahr there is no longbow because on a scale model it will make it op heavy nd mess up the flying. This would lead to a crash and alot of money in repair

  • Nice.

  • sure is lol!!

  • still not a longbow though is it

  • pls put a miniature Cam inside and upload the video then !

  • put bottle rockets in it :d

  • i have been reading material form the manufacturer (Boeing) that says just the opposite. the mast mounted fcr is only one of the many systems of the longbow. the term used for the ones without is DWO or D model without radar. they can do all the tasks the fcr equipped helis can do except generate FCR and RFI targets. "longbow" is the name designating the "D" model over the older "A" model. not a radar thing.

  • Actually all Longbow's are fiited with the FCR cos thats what makes them Longbow's. Without the FCR they are just 'D' models!

  • @chrislewis1981 actually, it is a longbow. i made the fabs larger just like they are on the "D" model, the nav and strobe lights are on the engine nacelles instead of the tips of the weapons wing as on the "A" model and the air data sensors are located on the engine nacelles as well instead of the top og the rotorhead where the "A" model has them.

also not all the longbows are equiped with the FCR (fire control radar) since only one in a flight of seven need it for a mission.

  • nice but its not a model D nor a longbow. No longbow radar dish on top. nice model though

  • GO DAD!

  • hey awsome heli, i've been trying to find one like that for a while now, where could i possibly get one?

  • thank you very much. the mechs at the time of this video were xcell 60 mechs. it now has a trex 600E inside.

  • Comment removed

  • how much money is that?

  • christ i bet that would wake the neibours!

thanks for posting mate it gives new flyers something to aspire to.

  • When this thing flies the damn gophers die.

  • I just love Apaches :O

  • Attach a camera to it and make a heli-cam.

  • while attatching a camera to this model isnt practical, i have done the aerial camera before., waay cool!

  • shit thaasa huge!

  • Great stuff, well done!!

  • Does that run on GAS,And like how big is that

  • in this video it was nitro powered. now its electric powered and as for size, its made for a 50 size helicopter

  • That's really cool, but I wish you had flown it around instead of just hovering.

  • yes but in the backyard, there is only enough space to hover around

  • for how long can you keep the in air?

  • Cool looking Apache

  • most RC apaches I see have 2 main rotors and are black lol kinda irony to its Russian counterpart the KA-50 :P

    Nice vid

  • Holy fuck you could probably chop someone's leg off with that damn thing. xD

  • hey you should do the same thing with a ch 47chinook that wat you could lift stuff

  • just beautiful.

  • how much does one of those cost is it ready to fly thats badass

  • awesome!

  • If only it had ammo for its chain gin.

  • coool :D:D:D

  • i wish one day the RC aircrafts could install some firing missles! that'll be awesome! and with this apache, i could kill those army mens that my lil bro is playing with muahahaha

  • If you ever get a gun, i really don't wanna be anywhere near you...

  • lol

  • I thought this thing was real from the thumbnail. Awesome helo.

  • very nice, so realistic

u can see the light flashing, cool!!

  • yeah thats a pretty big one. only 1 rotor

  • that man is really tall!

  • that is so he doesn't have to put out his antenna too much

  • that thing is cool as shit....i think you said you were around rucker...im going thru 64D school and would love to check it out cause ive been interested in these things but dont know were to start...thanks

  • we will be out at larrys bbq in daleville this sunday if you want to stop by we will get you started in the right direction.

  • THAT THING IS HUGE!

  • Im amazed too. You normally see small one's. BTW this is not a bad comment you left. i gave u a thumbs up

  • Wow. One moster Apache. Much props!

  • what the? O_o

  • it certainly can, it can go as high as i can still see it to fly it.

MadMaxi100, if you read some of the earlier posts, you will see that several people thought the same thing about it not being a longbow

  • it is not a longbow

  • Actually, it is. The AH-64A has an air data sensor on top of the rotor which the longbow does not have. It does not necessarily need to have the radar dome on top to be a longbow

  • nevermind for my last comment....I found it sorry bout that

  • Im sure you get this all the time but where did you get that model and how much .... I was looking into getting that but idk where to look sweet helicopter though

  • oh yeah, its capable of forward flight just like the fullsize machine

  • can it only hover or move around like how helicopters do?

  • after about 15 mins i am ready for a break so i dont really know how long it will run on a full tank. flight times vary with the size of the tank, rpm you run the engine, mixture settings and nitro content of fuel.

  • I was looking at the kits available at starwood models, it looks like the motor is a separate purchase than the heli kit. Also it looks like rc transmitter reciever is a separate purchase than the motor. What size motor did you use for this one? What would be the smallest size motor I could use for this type of heli? How much did it cost to build this heli (kit + motor + accessories)?

Also how far does your model fly - distance and altitude?

  • thats just an apache, it doesnt have longbow on it, but still pretty freaking sweet

  • okay, i guess not everyone is aware that the FCR on top isnt what makes the D model apache the longbow version. there are some not equiped withthe FCR. on a typical mission, only one in every seven is equiped with the FCR.

the other ways to tell the longbow from the older A model is the larger forward avionics bay, the air data sensors on the top of the engine nacelles and the nav and strobe lights arent on the weapons pylons tip they are located on the side of the engine nacelles.

  • oh, well thank you, i learned something today.

  • Can u please tell me at what Rpm the Main rotor was running when it left the ground?

  • man i wish i knew. i set everything up by sight sound and feel. i would guess around 1500rpm

  • well the FCR is what makes it a longbow it is a AH-64D but not a AH-64D longbow

  • nicksf1, i am sorry but you are incorrect. see the thing on top is a fire control radar. only one out of eight need to have it on a typical mission. thats why they arent al equiped with it. apaches dont usually fight alone. each ship has a primary and a secondary target. one ships primary is another's secondary. that show they ensure acuracy and a 100% kill ratio. so there ya have it. the only time an apache isnt a longbow, is if it is an "A" model.

  • you are right the FCR is only need on one out of every 7 or 8 the FCR the is radar for the whole squid out on that mission it tells all the other longbows what is going on on the battle field, along with telling troop and battalion commanders on the ground what is going on

  • does it runs on liquid fuel..like gasoline

  • the fuel is liquid but not gasoline in this case. this one is nitro powered. a mixture of nitromethane and methanol with a synthetic lubricant mixed in.

  • can you kindly tell me the endurance of the copter i mean the max time it can be in air

  • Maby a tip for the next time make yourself some floats and try it firsht on whater. that way you will see much earlyer where to trim or adjust. .. but always take it easy or you will and upside down in the wather.. no body damage though but dunno youre electronics XD

  • nice!

  • it will fly as high as i wnt to take it. the vid was shot in my back yard and as you can see, trees are all around s well as above. this machine hasnt been flown enough yet even though i have had it a year and still many bugs to work out.

  • i got the apache r/e havoc heli! but the remote if ifared, so i need to fly it inside. cuz the signals need to bounce off walls...

  • how much is this ??

  • dude this is awsome where did u get it

  • too much weight on it

  • not sure what you mean

  • this is made out of wood? wow that must be a powerful motor or made out or balsawood.

  • yes, it is constructed from balsa and ply. this is built the same way as wood airplane kits.

  • awesome!!!!

  • does the tail wheel actually work??? i work on the real one i want one of those to take to work

    haha

  • yes the tailwheel works with a spring strut and castors for steering.

  • awesome i want one so i can take it on the flight line at work with the real apaches i think the pilots would like it alot!!

  • Great heli, I won,t to buy a rc longbow apache for my hobby. Wich one do you prefer and wich one i should not buy.

    regards from Holland.

  • there were three brands available. mine is the approach engineering kit which will be available again soon. production stopped after the owner passed away but it has been resumed by the new owner. the len mount kit may no longer be available but it was a d model and very nice, big and expensive. see it at starwood models. the other is indy helis which makes an a model the same size as the len mount kit also impressive and pricy.

  • thanks for your reply, great hobby. Keep up the good work. Regards from the Netherlands

  • hey nice heli!

i have it too but he doesn't take off.

    he's only spinning

ps srry for my bad english

  • Nice heli.. and this is no longbow. Longbow have radar :P

  • Actually, not all longbows have the fcr on top

a typical mission only requires one helicopter out of a few in a flight group to have the fcr on top. here at ft rucker, all the apaches are the longbow or "D" model. about half of them are equiped with the fcr. i will have video with the fcr inplace posted soon.

  • Beautiful build. I never got to see this video on Rotory. I followed your project pretty closely and I am very impressed.

  • nice one copterdoctor, looks great.i have the starwood apache with petrol mechs.how do you find the stabillity with the aproach fuzz?

  • thanks man, the fuse makes the machine very solid but of course the multibladed head has its own way of handling.

  • this is a nice piece of work man. great vid

  • I see the elevator on the back moving up & down. Is that directing some sort of airflow? Engine exhaust maybe? Nice vid

  • no not really, the stab is controlled via the flight mode switch to move it up and down. i was demonstrating its movement for the video.

  • unfortunately, the fuselage is currently and hopefully temporarily unavailable since the coe of the company that produces it passed away. there are others like indy helis and starwood models that produce an apache fuselage. the indy is made for gas or electric while the starwood version is for gas or turbine. both are quite a bit larger thanthe approach engineering kit in my vid and quite a bit more expensive.

  • where do u get this kind of rc, plz tell me

  • while i admit that isnt my best flying, especially while trying to hover it while looking at the camera's screen to make sure the heli stays in the shot, i welcome a video of your longbow flying.

  • holy ..that looks sick

  • Great hover skills! Beautiful helicopter.

  • emile i didnt know you had a vid of the apache , wow mate awesome

  • if only i have one of these ..i wanted to get that tho!!!!!!!but i dont know if theres any hehe

  • That's one bad-ass Apache. Great job.

  • dope apache!!!!
