  • My god i cant hear you

  • I'm guessing that for someone who might have a bit of shoulder internal rotation, Voyer Shrugs would be a good option?

  • So would doing behind the back shrugs put more stress on the front of the traps?

  • my gyms DBs only go up to 95 lbs, and we don't have a trapbar at my gym. i regularly shrug in the mid 400's without straps. am i getting anything by doing barbell shrugs to the front of my body with a ballistic power shrug style? i keep an arch in my back, my torso is slightly inclined forward kind of similar to a yates row, and i use slight leg drive to get the weight up but i control on the negative. my goal is strength, power, and explosiveness, i could care less about hypertrophy.

  • 23 people are not 'quite incorrect'

  • Thank you for this demonstration. It's hard to take solid fitness advice from someone who doesn't look in peak shape. By peak shape I mean BMI, low body fat. I am more impressed with fitness educators who are toned, with a 6pack and low body fat.

  • @TheCrosswind

So I guess you are referring to me as not being in shape? As you know what I look like with a shirt off, etc? So you are saying that your definition of health is a 6 pack? You got some learning to do my friend! See ya!

  • @TheCrosswind

    Dude, seriously?

  • Love the videos Josh! Most of your studio videos are very hard to hear though; far away and tunnel like, unless headphones are used thx! :)

  • @motlo

I know. I am working on it. Have not figured out how to get better volume, as the gym has such a high ceiling. But working on it!

  • I like your out of the box viewpoint here. I tend to think you're right too. Not a professional opinion(from me) but it just makes more sense to me. Too many people try to simplify the human body when it is everything but simple.

  • and another round of applause for our lovely, smiling assistant lol

  • Your overall goal, I believe, to be to educate people. By turning people off you may be hindering your potential impact. Again I want to say, the information is information that needs to be disseminated and I agree with most of it. As someone who lectures nationally to doctors, I feel I am experienced enough to comment. I respect your right to create whatever you desire. Please take this as feedback from someone who cares and in no way an attack. Thanks again for all your hard work.

  • Josh your information is great and I agree with most of your points. I also see the perspective of dynamicwellness. At times your tone boards condescending and insulting, even though I believe that is not your intent. I have spoken to you on the phone several times and every time you have been more than informative and polite at the same time. It does appear that your tone changes in these videos, in such a way that I think is detracting from your overall goal.

  • You guys are awesome!!!

  • Excellent! explanation, and demonstration. Very helpful. Thank you!

  • Great information, I like to tell people they are training their posture to a certain degree ergo hands on the their side and not in front. Keep it coming.

  • great vid josh

  • Thanks for the tip!

  • In my personal opinion people take a lot of your information the wrong way because you come off abrasive with a semi-patronizing tone... You even demonstrated this as you opened your video...just FYI...BTW great video!

  • @dynamicwellness33 I have seen Paul Chek lecture several times and he tends to do this same thing quite often too. This might be where your habits have come from.

  • @dynamicwellness33

I appreciate the message, but it is not from Paul Chek. If you here something that hits a nerve, then you are supposed to be hearing it. I speak the truth and put tones on words, etc that I feel need to be heard. I am a compassionate person, but I also speak what needs to be heard. Life is a movie and we all see and hear what we are supposed to. If you feel it is patronizing, well you have to ask yourself why. As I have always said, the purpose of these it to educate!

  • I do appreciate all of your information that is why I have virtually seen every single post you have made over the years. And throughout your videos you continue to make note of how you piss everyone off. I think it’s good to be independent of the opinions of others but at some point you need to be self-critical, that’s where growth and learning occurs.

  • @joshrubineastwest By having a more diplomatic approach you would be able to reach more listeners and educate more people, which is your goal. Your information is cutting edge, people like Sean Croxton, Jimmy Moore, and Mark Sisson share controversial, cutting edge information as well and have 5 to 10 times more subscribers…in my opinion this is because of the way they deliver their information. I wish you the best…

  • @dynamicwellness33

Sensitive, yes. I apprec the response. But i don't care how many subcribers I get. i just educate and speak the truth. I would rather have 100 subs and really get a message out than have 1 million and no one respect me. The number of subs does not dictate how successful you are, etc. My approach is to educate, etc and that is why i do these. My feeling, those other guys you compared me to..which is apples and organes anyway...do it for the rating in my opinion.

  • That is what they do and I am not judging. But i speak my truth and don't give you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear. I am here to stir your mental pot and if I do, than I am doing my job. If I comfort you, then I am just telling you what you know. the only way to learn is to learn what you are doing incorrectly. How do you think i come up with these, I have been in each place as a trainer, etc..that is why I am trying to make a change. So if you feel it is patronizing, I apologiz

  • You say that I have to look withn becse I am patronizing & that if I do I will get more subs. I feel diff about that. I feel that we see ourselves through others. So the question is, what part of you did you see through me that you are not comfortable with? I learn from myself all the time through my students, that is why I do these vids. I learned from my mistakes. I am not perfect, but I can say I am honest with myslf 100% of the time! Thanks for tuning in, respecting my opinion, as I do yours

  • @joshrubineastwest I know it's very easy to dismiss me as being sensitive, for it provides justifications for your actions and learning will not be possible. I do feel that how you present your information is hurting you're overall goal which is to educate the public. As the more people you turn off, the less people will be available to hear your great message!

  • @dynamicwellness33 he keeps it real and i appreciate his no bs approch. you might be too sensitive.

  • thank you for the information Josh. I really love your useful knowledge.

  • thanks! u explained that well! have a great rest of the week!

  • man, great video. nice in depth description.
