  • Glasgow produces best bands, no other city compares!

  • to all these kids that want or think that are cool...!!! just listen to this MOFOS!!! nuff said!!!

  • quality riff

  • Sun grows cold

    Sky gets black

    And you broke me up

And now you wont come back

    Shaking hand, life is dead

    And a broken heart

    And a screaming head

    U n d e r t h e a p r i l s k y . . .

  • Saw them in '88 in Den Haag...just one wall of noise...GREAT... Better than My Bloody Valentine...(I love the studioworks of MBF, but live they were shit)

  • jamc are the dogs bolloks!!!

  • Ahh cool record.

I can see where Glasvagas get inspired.

Not sure about the Cure influence, I always thought Velvet Underground myself.

    All cool btw.

  • its just the hair i think, comparing them to the cure is pretty dumb

  • These fellows aren't anywhere near as self-conscious as The Cure; they're simply cool.

  • Oh I just love this song...Its 1987 and Miss Gordon is around!! Happy days for sure!!!

  • They are really really similiar to the pixies

their sound is really like Trompe le Mond

  • ... You mean the Pixies' Trompe le Mond sounds a lot like The Jesus and Mary Chain.

  • You do know this record was released 4 years before Trompe le Mond?

  • Yeah I know it was released before but I wasn't alive when it was released

and I listened to the pixies first so in my head it works that way I only said that the pixies album trompe le monde has a a similiar sound and the pixies even do a cover of Head On...........

  • fair comment, if thats the way you heard it first

  • You guys do realise that there's actually a J&MC track on Trompe le Monde, right? :)

  • yeah I said "and the pixies even do a cover of Head On..........."

  • Simply one of the best sounds ever made. That's all folks.

  • The Cure?? I reckon there's more Beach Boys in them than Cure ...

  • son dios en vida.....amor y odio.....noise......

  • now them were the days

  • JAMC's

    noise

    lima, nov 6

    thanks god

  • How many bands have copied THe Cure? Just tell me that

  • LOOOTS LOL ;]

  • it's not a cure copy! the cure is an influence and it'll ever be. JAMC is great, but it's not a copy.

  • WOW! This song blew my mind! I love it!

  • I miss those days, everyting seems so fake nowadays... :(

  • You know, being born to late isn't so great either.

    =)

  • wat, like their accents?

  • the same feeling here

  • OFTEN IMIATATED NEVER DUPLICATED IS THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN. these guys were so far

ahead of their time , at least 20 yrs. this is

why their music sounds fresh still .how many

bands have copied this sound ?

  • Great band - love that full, old guitar sound. MINT band.

  • superb absolutely love this track

  • Love it!

  • sometimes people try too hard in youtube comments.

sometimes people just watch the videos.

  • you no what?Thats just it,like DC say full of experts.

    Just Enjoy...

  • Don't worry... they have a disease known as: D-egraded

    U-rologists

    M-entally

    B-ombed

    A-s

    S-eperated

    S-cience.

That's why they're primitive fools... they were born the way they are and can't change it :(

  • too much

  • Why did I get thumbs down?

Are you idiotic or something? the jerk replied to my comment saying something unlogical.

    I explained how genetics work.

By the way, there's nothing wrong in sexual related-things, it's completely natural and it relieves stress to a lower level. Some things such as religion make it seem grotesque.

I personally recommend you to think about the base of a subject; though I assume most of you don't understand urology/genetics.

    Thank you for your time.

  • am i the only person here who isnt fixated on penises? seriously, this is a MUSIC VIDEO and you're all debating the size of some guy's DICK!?

    (he said 'debating'! uh-huh-huh-huh-hurrr!)

  • The Mary Chain IS a great band. But actually there are quite a few bands like them around today, because they were very influential. Try the Raveonettes or BRMC. And of course, JAMC themselves are back together and touring as well. Saw them night before last and they were better live than ever.

  • fantastic-

great band- nothing like it around today

  • EXELENTE !!!!

  • Say hi to her, by the way, I gave her a nasty disease !, bye, bye.

  • Those were the days!!!

  • I love this song so much,it's purely addictive.

  • The question to be asked isn't "Who are the top 5 best bands ever", it's "What are the top 5 reasons why the Jesus & Mary Chain are the best band in the world".

  • is strange but I miss the puta noise

  • Beats 99% of today's Pop music. Ace song!

  • you hit the nail right on the head

  • Yeah, I mean, they're SO boring, it's not like their audience would EVER do something interesting like COMPLETELY TRASH £8k worth of stuff at a venue and have a HUGE mega legendary riot...

    oh, no, wait a second...

  • one of their best songs

  • one of the best 5 bands of the 80's,its so sweet ,jesus...

  • Can I be so bold to interupt, the other four would be New Order, The Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen and the Cocteau Twins! I'm up for a debate!!

  • Yep. Good call. I'd put the Psychedelic Furs in there too.

  • now i know where the stone roses are coming from!

  • And who cares about it???

This video is about TJMC! Not about Velvet Underground!

  • This haven't aged a bit. A timeless classic!

  • They are so damn cool!

  • Gods of shoegaze!were not worthy!were not worthy!

  • still fresh!

  • can't wait to check em out at electric picnic!!

  • Love it!

  • a word of support to GatchmanG4 - I'm probably as old as you now but do not feel it. Just think how we enjoyed these great bands and feel sorry for today's kids with all this garbage being produced...We are the lucky ones, just like our parents were the lucky ones in the 50's and 60's.

  • couldn@t agree more about ur sentiments about the indie garbage of today. this stuff is in adifferent league!!

  • I agree, great song..man I feel old!
