@alwaysopen I compete in k9 weight pulling and my boxer is out pulling alot of the pits. At age 1 he was already pulling 800 pounds on sled in snow, Which is 10x harder then those rail systems most pit owners use and with minimal training. My boxer also can climb almost verticlly up a roof ladder onto the roof of my house, he swims better then a lot of water dogs I know and also does water decoy retival. But I would say pits have the most gameness out of the box of any breed out there.
a pit wasnt even bread for fighting,german shepards and chow chows were bread to fight in wars (hints the german shepards long snout,nd hints the chow chows massive fur) so as a person that is VERY educated in dogs i would have to say the pitbull is by far NOT the best fighter,though i do not condone animal cruelty but a bouvier is by far the strongest biter nd best fighter! only dog that can break bones with every bite....most of u people have no idea what u r talking about

Are people seriously arguing about which of these two breeds make for better fighter? Training a dog to fight is cruel and harmful to the animals involved. It is done only for human entertainment and money making. These animals deserve better, you would not like if someone brainwashed you and made you fight another human and get really hurt would you? (both dogs go 2 their perspective corners of the pit. their handlers take em there. they r faced toward each other from their corners at their scratch lines which r 12 ft apart. the dog that turned will b the first 2 scratch. the ref tells the handler of the dog who turned.....
@mjfromga89 2 release or let go of that dog. 1nce released, that dog must go over 2 the other side of the pit 2 mouth (bite) the other dog. the handler of the other dog can release his dog at anytime after the (turned) dog is released but must let go when the turned dog mouths his dog at the latest. if the turned dog doesnt at 1nce cross over 2 the other dog or stops, he is declared the loser b/c he doenst have a willingness 2 fight. i didnt give every little detail but these r sum of the rulz

The American Pit Bull Terrier can be a great dog if you train it correctly beginning at a very young age and maintain your vigilance. @SAMAND33 it should, its 10 times their size! while i am a big fan of the cao/caucasian ovcharka, it does not have the heart, will/determination, tenacity, gameness, thresh-hold tolerance for pain/tough n ruggedness that a decent pit does. ofcourse this is a general statement & wont b true n every case but generally speaking it is absolutely true. there r very very few dogs who do b/c of the very selective breeding of each of these characteristics/traits the pit bull.

Explain to me how I can visit a couple of friends who have 3 or 5 pits in their houses of varying ages. The dogs all sleep, eat, play together and they more than tolerate each other. I am sure there is an alpha dog hierarchy but I have yet to see them enforce it. I suppose a strange dog in their yard might catch hell but that is not of this topic. D' ya think the dog whisperer's own pack is a bunch of hired dog actors or maybe he really trained them?

I am tired with the way these dogs, like the one on my channel, have been trashed for no reason than their stupid stewards. most aren't fit to be owners. my Amstaff was purebred show stock and as high strung as one could wish. i know that dogs need a alpha-beta hierarchy and the owner better assert that dominance as soon as possible. do this and you will have a happy dog who will do anything for you.

I have owned both and my last Amstaff - basically a pit - was a pure natural athlete that only a specially trained boxer could have kept up with. I am 6'1" and 230lbs. He was 60lbs able to pull me around easily if I gave him the chance as he was pure muscle. Go find some thick boxers and pits and ask the owners if you can walk it on a leash. You will find out who has the strength.

I have two pure bred boxer females and one pure bred staff female. they are best buds. my female boxer is 85 lbs and my 4 month old boxer is almost 25 lbs. my staffy is around 45 lbs. with all that said. my staffy is Solid muscle and very very heavy. if she doesnt wanna move- i cant move her. I can move my 85 lb boxer easy. she walk great on a leash. they are two different breeds BUT I love them both. my sleeping partner is my staffy. she has the deepest bark i have ever heard..♥

@2sites I don't agree with dog fighting but did you know that it is a way of life in a lot of places outside the country such as Brazil, Thailand, and Japan- BTW it is legal in Japan. So even though it is frowned upon in the state by people like you and I, it is a way of life outside of the country. It is viewed like Mix Martial Arts is here; it has a MUCH MUCH bigger fan base outside the country.

@TOCOOLKILLER21 on the subject of the dogs.. i am saying that the gsd will not generally/consistently beat a decent pit. it is not so far-fetched that a gsd COULD win but not consistently. i mentioned the size b/c it could b a factor; however, again if the pit is anywhere close 2 the size of the gsd, it (the gsd) will still generally lose. there r more factors involved than long canines & protective instincts. speed will/can vary from dog 2 dog.
@TOCOOLKILLER21 all dogs have a protective instinct but sum's instincts r stronger than others. that instinct however is not enuf 2 overcome superb natural fighting ability, bite pressure, wind, determination, athleticism, strength/power, tolerance for pain/punishment while maintaining a willingness/focus 2 fight. the pit doesnt have 2 b mad 2 fight. he enjoys it. n most cases, the gsd will lose desire/willingness 2 launch a sustained & effective defense & will fight only out of survival.
@TOCOOLKILLER21 which @ the point of fighting just 2 survive, it is vulnerable 2 the determined sustained & increasingly focused attack of the pit and its will will only wane while its adversary's increases. this is generally what will happen. ask any 1 who has witnessed or heard of this situation or who has researched & understands these dogs make-up. i have owned several of both of these breeds. i have seen/heard sum unfortunate details of this so it is not just my opinion.

@alwaysopen I compete in k9 weight pulling and my boxer is out pulling alot of the pits. At age 1 he was already pulling 800 pounds on sled in snow, Which is 10x harder then those rail systems most pit owners use and with minimal training. My boxer also can climb almost verticlly up a roof ladder onto the roof of my house, he swims better then a lot of water dogs I know and also does water decoy retival. But I would say pits have the most gameness out of the box of any breed out there.

(both dogs go 2 their perspective corners of the pit. their handlers take em there. they r faced toward each other from their corners at their scratch lines which r 12 ft apart. the dog that turned will b the first 2 scratch. the ref tells the handler of the dog who turned.....

Explain to me how I can visit a couple of friends who have 3 or 5 pits in their houses of varying ages. The dogs all sleep, eat, play together and they more than tolerate each other. I am sure there is an alpha dog hierarchy but I have yet to see them enforce it. I suppose a strange dog in their yard might catch hell but that is not of this topic. D' ya think the dog whisperer's own pack is a bunch of hired dog actors or maybe he really trained them?

I have owned both and my last Amstaff - basically a pit - was a pure natural athlete that only a specially trained boxer could have kept up with. I am 6'1" and 230lbs. He was 60lbs able to pull me around easily if I gave him the chance as he was pure muscle. Go find some thick boxers and pits and ask the owners if you can walk it on a leash. You will find out who has the strength.

i dont wanna see dogs fight I just saw boxer and pit...want to see the dogs in general. anyhow, my dogs are good buddies. they give kisses, lay around, all 3 dogs eat from the same dog bowl at the same time..NO fighting. I even trained them to eat from a spoon and take turns. I have two pure bred boxer females and one pure bred staff female. they are best buds. my female boxer is 85 lbs and my 4 month old boxer is almost 25 lbs. my staffy is around 45 lbs. with all that said. my staffy is Solid muscle and very very heavy. if she doesnt wanna move- i cant move her. I can move my 85 lb boxer easy. she walk great on a leash. they are two different breeds BUT I love them both. my sleeping partner is my staffy. she has the deepest bark i have ever heard..♥

Umm why a pit wouldnt win is bc of take a look at a german shepherd 1) They are faster 2) bigger teeth great for damage 3) They are trained to protect what there master's train them for. So there for what is said is that there protective instincts kick in and they do what it takes to take out the problem. And fyi look up a german shepherd fight vs a pit shepherd's win. Why do you think the Cop's use a german shepherd and not a pit.

@TOCOOLKILLER21 dude, the majority of the time a decent pit will whip other dogz that r anywhere close 2 their size..say w/in 20 pounds or even more. 4get about a good or well-bred 1. u dont understand the dynamics of this breed. i use 2 think like u bacc n the day too but trust, ur data/research is flawed. all dogs have a protective instinct. the pit doesnt have 2 b trained 2 fight. it was meticulously bred 4 it. this is why no other dog has consistently beat a pit anywhere close 2 its size.

@TOCOOLKILLER21 on the subject of the dogs.. i am saying that the gsd will not generally/consistently beat a decent pit. it is not so far-fetched that a gsd COULD win but not consistently. i mentioned the size b/c it could b a factor; however, again if the pit is anywhere close 2 the size of the gsd, it (the gsd) will still generally lose. there r more factors involved than long canines & protective instincts. speed will/can vary from dog 2 dog.

@TOCOOLKILLER21 all dogs have a protective instinct but sum's instincts r stronger than others. that instinct however is not enuf 2 overcome superb natural fighting ability, bite pressure, wind, determination, athleticism, strength/power, tolerance for pain/punishment while maintaining a willingness/focus 2 fight. the pit doesnt have 2 b mad 2 fight. he enjoys it. n most cases, the gsd will lose desire/willingness 2 launch a sustained & effective defense & will fight only out of survival.

@TOCOOLKILLER21 which @ the point of fighting just 2 survive, it is vulnerable 2 the determined sustained & increasingly focused attack of the pit and its will will only wane while its adversary's increases. this is generally what will happen. ask any 1 who has witnessed or heard of this situation or who has researched & understands these dogs make-up. i have owned several of both of these breeds. i have seen/heard sum unfortunate details of this so it is not just my opinion.
