I don't always remember him. At least I have him in my head bouncing around like the solar waves in our little itty bitty Universe. When I do remember him it grabs me and I end up posting so many songs on Face Book my friends don't recognize me. I guess they forget me, at least I'm in their head bouncing around like solar waves...
It's no wonder why Madlib digs Sun Ra so much ... I mean, are you listening to this right now? Do you hear what I'm hearing? There's so much freedom in this composition that the ears stay busy ... trying to decipher why your mind can't get enough of the way the chord changes a couple of clicks earlier than you're expecting it to and then BOOM ... you're lost in the mesmerizing noise that is this masterpiece. This is not of this planet. This is way out there ... Peace
I had the delight of seeing him with the Arkestra many times, at NYC venues ranging from Slugs' to the Brooklyn Academy of Music to the Red Garter! (which later became the Bottom Line, where I also saw him play). Never less than a stunning, all-involving experience, followed by the chance to buy original LPs, some with hand-painted covers, after the shows, which went as long as 5 or 6 hours. Brilliance combined with discipline, what a concept.
Whenever I feel sad or lonely or anything other than good, all I have to do is play Sun Ra. The sound of his synthesizers and pianos together with those African/Egyptian drums and Marshall Allen's oboe or flute or alto, will elevate me to a place I'd like to remain for eternity. If you ever had the pleasure of seeing him play with his Arkestra or even just solo, you'll be blessed by the most delightful artistry, humor and beauty that's just plain indescribable. He's a deity.

i really liked the album and this is a cool track. Not his most "experimental" side bt still really cool.
