  • hes pretty hot

  • Nice take off from Rwy 27R there, you have the best job in the world.

  • Brilliant video, love the different angles, Is this a 767 or a 757?

  • whats the song?

  • Another great...your videos are the best!

  • Your job is so amazing! Thank you for all videos!

Its my dream, to be a pilot.

  • A Cost Index of 19..?!

You must of had some hefty tailwinds!

Or, left well before the scheduled departure time!

As a question if you don't mind Kent:

For ZFW, do you take pax weight as 190lbs..? and times by x passengers..?

  • We have a load control department. They use the 190 pound figure and the actual weight of cargo and passenger checked baggage. For us, the ZFW is uploaded automatically via ACARS after we get the closeout, which is usually just as we're pushing back.

You're right, the low cost index is common when we are planned to arrive early. Good catch.

  • That's interesting, thank you for replying.

I'm just waiting for the day that the 'average' figure for a given flight is well below what is the actual weight e.g the coin convention flight - A/P had a hell of a time on that!

  • 0:29 AIR CANADA

don't know how but was voted 2009 North American Airline of the year, wohoo!

  • ah that felt good, just the "lift" i needed! thx kent and nicolas ~

  • haha 0:58

  • are you an airline pilot? who do you fly for?

  • i wanted to ask that now aswell

    please answer!

  • He is, and he flies for American Airlines.

  • Thanks. Yes. Take a look at my blog. Google CockpitChronicles.

  • Very cool compilation! Music perfect for it too!

  • Great video. It made me laugh at 0:59!

  • what plane was this?

  • American usually flies 767's and 777's between boston/nyc to london, and judging by the view from the cockpit, I'd say its a 767.

  • just a question Kent, i dont know if its in your blog, but how many hours u did before getting into a company, just wondering cause in my country we need 1000 hours, i think its a lot, and i v heard that in some places its like 200h. thanks and great vids!

  • Well, it depends on the airline and the economy. Less than a thousand for a commuter, flying turboprops or, in some cases RJ's. 2,000 and up for major airlines.

This is all subject to change in the U.S. with new legislation that's being proposed raising the minimum here to 1,500 hours.

  • Thanks for the answer Kent. I think i just need a lot more than my 50 hours hehe. there so many questions to ask, but i think they will be answered one day... well at least i hope so.

    Thanks again Kent, happy year!

  • Your videos are the best Kent, not doubt about it!

  • Great!!!!

  • brilliant, would be amazing if you could make your videos a couple of minutes longer =]

  • not to be a nagger but is it still allowed to have people outside company in a cockpit? or is this just a regulation of fedex?

  • On the ground, absolutely. Visitors are welcome.

  • ok :) my bad then ^^

  • wow amazing!

  • Hey Kent, Have you ever had any Aircraft Failures when flying?

    And cool video! =)

  • While flying a 727 for a cargo operator, we had an engine failure, cargo shift and brake problem. Fortunately not all on the same flight though.

  • haha thats so awesome!

  • nice edited!! seem so simple yet so attractive!

  • what song is this? i love it ive heard it alot but i never found out

  • It's a stock song in iMovie.

  • That's awesome. I like the "please turn off electronic devices" :P

  • kent is my role model,i have finally found one

  • so cool i wanna do that one day =]

  • that was great, thanks for filming nicholas, i love to land in boston!

  • Just another whats that computer type thing at 0:15

  • It's called the Control Display Unit or CDU, and is the interface for the Flight Management Computer which takes flight information and calculates certain things vital to the operation of the aircraft.

  • does it show flightplan waypoints etc

  • Yes it does show your flight plan and waypoints, but only after you enter them into the FMC. You can see the waypoints on the heading indicator.

  • NICE VIDEO
