  • According to there site a steinway goes up 200percent in 10 years???!! There words guys not mine

  • I play guitar, but this sounds amazing to me

  • "Show me something shiny; I don't care about the price."

Every store wants a customer like that.

  • i hear it backside sound, had ppl play sonatina :D

  • 2:00 It sounds Like Sims :D

  • The Shigeru Kawai is so much better (than Steinway) it's not even funny," Treibitz said. "I wish I could put Steinways in my showroom next to the Shigeru Kawai, so people could understand."

  • Awesome. Some of the best times in ones life is when they are able to buy thier dreams. Congrats!!

  • why people buy cars from 60.000,-

  • @Kalliebach i'd take bus and buy a good piano

  • the piano is a universal intstrument you can play anything on the piano. and a Steinway half the time will go up in value. so if you payed $60,000 for it lets say 20yrs later it might be worth $80,000

  • @BBgunmaster67true, i read where gold has fallen in the last 10 years globaly, but steinways have gon up 200%!! amazing, i have a fender stratocaster guitar i bought new in 2005 for £599, its now worth that second hand!!!! a good instrument is always a good investment i belive

  • how da fuk do people buy these if theyre like 60 000 thats like a small house

  • @5amhassangeeman they're unbelievably wealthy

  • What's with all the damn hatin!? The guy is fortunate enough to get a Steinway, and plays well. I didn't you needed to play like Georges Cziffra to own a Steinway...

To the owner of that beautiful instrument - Congrats! I hope to own a Steinway someday.

  • f*ck how I HATE jazz./ragg/pop on piano, but I especially hate the smiles and faces the players make. sorry for the hating haha but arghghxD

  • @RemovdSande11 couldn't agree more :D

  • favioli is 10000x better than crapway

  • @crustylion123 it's personal opinion, I played favioli and steinway and they are very different pianos. It's like a rolls royce and a mayback.

  • That guy who is playing isn't even good enough to get a steinway. enough said!!!

  • I prefer the girl dressed in black........!!

  • i will give a steinway piano to anyone who can tell me what the name of the intro song is.

  • He should just buy a $1,000 digital piano and spend the rest on piano lessons and a priest.

  • @podx990 lol, same dude, he is all talk no soul

  • it's way too expensive for me, bad -_-

  • i love bmw and this one looks like bmw507

  • so clear sounding!

  • -"oh yeah...this is the one...i feel this was built for me....and how much is it again?"

    -"that would be 7.089170.4570137.45091.7357$ sir"

-"ok how about that small one in the corner?".......

  • yea I think it was his variation ot the song "alice in wonderland" look it up by oscar peterson, beautifull song

  • that track sounds like somthing I was just listening to oscar peterson play, its a jazz track, it might have been written by thelonius monk tho, im not sure

  • does anyone know the intro track for tthis vid? what is it ..?

  • I love the intro track. very nice and subtle..

  • IVe played one steinway grand in my life. It was in a hospital. It was a beautiful instrument.

  • Brilliant! He bought it 'cause it was shiny! Advice to live by.

  • lol i go into tom lee just to play these beauties...trying to ignore the $60,000 pricetag that could buy me a house.

  • Steinway is *THE* piano. All others are just wannabes...

  • @TrumpetMAB

You obviously have no ideas what your talking about. Steinway have never been 'The' piano. Whilst they 'were' excellent before ww2, A very risky and costly marketing exercise placed them in every major concert hall on Earth. gifted as part of Steinway's plan.

That's the reason why they were so popular, because they are simply heard more than any other brand.

Did you know that Steinway buy in complete actions from Yamaha these days?

No, I didn't think you knew that...

  • @acorntechnique

BWAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA You're so FUNNY!!!! You make me laugh!!!

  • @acorntechnique wtf are you talking. ITS BECAUSE STEINWAY SOUNDS GREAT!

  • this guy does not deserve that piano cause he can't play a crap!!

  • @korglove What do you mean ? How do you know that ? He just tests the piano. He can play a crap when he wants ? He's just testing.

  • @korglove you're just jealous =_=

  • @korglove It doesn't matter one iota whether he can play well or not, if buying that piano makes him happy,,,,, then we should be happy for him.

Everyone deserves to be happy,,, If a piano like this would make you happy then you should get one,,, irrespective of your ability to play! His playing ability will not make him a nicer person will it? Not any more than it will make you a nice person!!

  • this guy does not deserve that piano cause he can't play a crap!!

  • the first piano he played goes arround 100 thousand euros =120k dollars......only few can have one 1.87 steinway

  • whats the music playing at the start and the end called? who is it by?

    Thanks

  • I want all those piano...

  • The title is misleading... this video is not about the art of selecting a Steinway!

As far as the customer's comment goes, I believe he simply wanted something 'shiny' and just 'fell in love' after trying out that particular piano. I thought the video would be on more technical side. What a waste of bandwidth.

  • STEINWAY of course!!!

  • alice in wonderland - jazz tune

  • steinway or bosendorfer? which would u perfer

  • for me I prefer Bosendorfer!

  • @syameer95 steinway!

  • Everybody would love to own a Steinway.

  • I'm undecided between a model O or the B...

  • Steinways are sooo beautiful...although it'll probably be forever until I can afford one. I think I've played one like 3 times..maybe? && I lovedd it!! (:

  • @belle1199 how much is it? a friend grandfather has three (very old though)

  • one of my goals in life is to own a steinway &sons LOL

  • i would like one too.

  • Steinway pianos r damn expensive it really cost few hundred thousands cos it one of top piano in the world..

  • @fahrenheit4321 a Few hundred thousand what?

  • I played a steinway at a school I was only a beginner and it had a beautiful sound

  • oh my goodness Ive never been able to play a steinway :( I dont have the courage to ask harrods people to let them play one of their ones but now that I am joining the royal colleges in London I hope that I will finally be able to try one out =D

  • @isym444 Forget about the Steinway's at Harrods, Overrated like Rolls Royce,,, clever marketing. Trot down to Jaques Samuel Pianos on Edgware Road ask if you can try one of the Fazioli's,,,,, stunning! Tell them you starting at the Royal College and someone suggested you try a Fazoli,,,,They are sooty but nice, it's probably worth a look around the basement they have lots of pianos sitting around you could try may even be one of those Horror's Steinway's that someone has traded in for a Fazoli

  • @orrinoconnor haha thanks yeah I have now been able to play both fazioli and Steinway etc. now that Im at rcm but thanks anyways...Ill stick to my yamaha U1 !!

  • @orrinoconnor

I think referring to a Steinway as a 'horror' is a little unjust, but I do agree that Fazioli probably make the best pianos in the world.

  • @acorntechnique Unjust? Every note on a Steinway is an interruption to the music. Give me Bechstein any day!

  • @isym444 Just DO IT!!! Haha...I am constantly making a nuisance of myself in piano stores. They know I don't have the cash for one...but ONE day! You have to try one!

  • @isym444 We have one @ our school :D

  • @KrixPrix You're very lucky to have one at school!

  • @asuperpower I actually am, you're right :) But they should tune it.

  • @KrixPrix Yeah, you are really lucky because at our school we have a shitty Zmichi (or something, I really didnt pay attention to the manufacturer) upright piano that is out of tune, even.

  • its a shame pianos are so damn expensive, cause i think everyone should have one:)

  • @undertakerbesteva just 5 days ago I visited a Steinway piano gallery. The cheapest grand they had, which was also the smallest was 48 thousand. Can you beleive it? 48 thousand? The average citizen makes 46 thousand a year, without paying taxes, bills, food, clothes, and entertainment. Can you imagine? The prices that they ask is unbelievable, yes it is a good instrument, but the dealers should keep in mind that people also have a life to pay for.

  • @Martel211996 All that said they still run their business well and have their own customers. happily nowadays one doesn't have to be stuck on that and can enjoy playing music on a fine digital instrument or better on a midi-keyboard with the software instrument. they are no toys.

  • @assa123assa123 I have a Kawai 6, 1 brand new for 14 thousand. The instrument is fantastic and its not worse than a Steinway. Why overpay for a product simply because it has a famous name? They still run their business well because rich, and prestigious schools buy their instruments. For example, Julliard is an ALL Steinway school. They have over 100 studios in their school and most of the rooms have 2 Steinway grands in them. They make a good business off of rich concert pianist and schools.

  • @undertakerbesteva this is the best youtube comment I have seen in my whole life.

  • @undertakerbesteva Everyone can have a piano, everyone can't have a Stein Way. Everyone who choses has a car, but everyone doesn't have a Rolls.

  • @undertakerbesteva u shuld check out violins and see hw much they cost in comparison to the prices of piano >.<

  • I'm going to buy a steinway, but I don't know if it's worth it because I'm looking for an older one...

  • i have the joy of being able to play the concert grand steinway at our school and its extraordinary. just amazing. its 100 yrs old, rosewood. :) truly exceptional instrument.

  • I've only played a Steinway once as well but didn't quite like the action. I must include that it was a restored one (not that that should necessarily matter). I would love to play a brand new one some day. For now I've settled on a great Perzina which I'll be getting in a couple months for the new studio.

  • in some cases the more aged the piano the better. I remember when I was playing a baby grand steinway for a performance and it literally sung to me when I hit each key. It was OLD.

  • "love at first sound" is so true. i only played a steinway once in my life and i'll never forget how amazing it sounded.
