  • @echotechnology You should listen to my version of 'Johnny Todd' as a Toffee

  • thanks for this video. i miss home so much.

  • Pretty sure the footy verse is:

Over at Anfield the shirts they are red.

And the players play football as though they were dead.

While over at Goodison the shirts they are blue,

and the football they play is fantastic to view.

otherwise love the rest of the song, good man!

  • @50andM Perhaps you did not listen to all of the song. I sang that verse as well.

  • Hi, you have made me so happy, my Dad have just past away and we want this to be played, he knew all the verses and sang it so proud at family parties, he was the life and soul of the party.

Would you be able to send me the recording of the song via email? as we have tried to find the full song and it is his funeral on 21st august 2009?

    Thank you,

    Lynn

  • Thank you so much for posting this, me and my fella are both Scousers but have lived in Spain for the last 6 years (I'm 26 and he's 28) and came across this during a bout of homesickness that had us hunting for songs of our home town, you made us laugh and cry! THANK YOU!!!

  • Glad you enjoyed it. There are some more songs you might like in my playlist

    Tony

  • cool.nice song

  • Thanks for you comment, sorry to be so long in replying.

  • Congrats on having the stamina to do a 10 minute song :)

  • Thanks Dave and despite most of the verses being new to me I managed it on only the fourth take!

  • Fantastic fella - love it.

  • Thanks donning. Checked your channel and I am a little confused. I thought Liverpool was in 'Manx coastal waters' at least that's what I tell audiences when I sing this song. I did not realise it was in Greenland!!! lol!

    Tony

  • 'Greenland' as in 'the dear green place' Tony. Great to see the full version instead of the usual sanitised one even if you incline towards Kopite-ism. You're a talented man.

  • I hope I tried very hard not to show any favouritism Mike as I personally do not really follow football. In fact my mother was a 'Toffee' and knew Dixie Dean personally!

  • I remember a verse - 'what's your religion a fella once said so I jumped in my wellies and I kung fued his head' haha.

  • Lol. I did find some more verses but had to censor myself on the grounds that the song was already maximum length for uploading.
