I actually saw these guys back in the day (early 90's) met them partied with them went to shows where the admission was a can of food. tommy, chris and the guys were fun to be around..check out the following albums if you've never heard their 1st stuff: Leave Me Alone...Cinematic Superthug...Grip... All jam...Peace
living in the chicago area, i used to hear this band, and this song on Q101, but now with Q101 gone, and no contemporary rock stations on the air in chicago, ive taken to searching for little fringe lower power stations in the suburbs, i heard this a few minutes ago, one ''the kat'', a s/w suberban station, and i forgot how good this was, so i cam right home to ck on youtube...and wow, here it is, THANKS FOR POSTING THIS UP!!!!!
I met these guys in person many years ago when Devil Thumbs a Ride came out! Have a pic to! these guys are awesome! And I've seen them twice in concert!!! Wish I could see them again! And I'm 49 yrs old and still love this band!
I was thinking the exact same thing. I was in high school when this came out and it still gives me flash backs. What I would give to re-live just one day.
Among the detritus of the alternative 90's, The Hunger stood out as something actually worthwhile . Still have their "Devil Thumbs a Ride" album. Good stuff.
I was on that hill at Buzzfest at the woodlands. That shit was fucking awesome!!! All day boring with Cowboy Mouth, Our lady Peace, The Foo Fighters, everyone was just sitting down quiet all day until The Hunger came out with Vanishing Cream and that place blew up! There were trash cans and shoes in the air the whole time.
@HELLHOUSETV yeah if i remember correctly Black Lab opened the show up then The Hunger came and set it off though my memory is a little cloudy lol. i just remember seeing a doc martin boot go flying through the air lol
I first saw them live in the early 90's here in Louisville, KY. They played at the Festival in the Field at churchill downs.

I don't understand how this song was not more popular?! I will forever remember hearing this in Golds Gym circa 1996. Quite a pump!

I just bookmarked this because the background music sounds like a really old computer game I used to play. Dune.
(and yes, I full well realize that may have been the nerdiest comment I've ever made)

Alice-esque harmonized singing during the verse is pretty intoxicating. Heavily Satriani-influenced guitar work is also crispy clean!
I had completely forgotten how much I loved this song when it first came out 15 years ago!

@TiramisuHappy And don't forget the almost Depeche Mode-esque synthesizers!! :)
