@xvoy2002 Yes, this is a very old type of model jet engine that runs on propane. Check some of my more recent videos for some far more up-to-date engines and planes. These run on Jet-A1 so are far less inclined to burst into flames (although it does happen).

With that high wing loading, he cut power way to soon on the downwind leg and stalled.. You need to be just about aligned with the runway before you cut power. People still dont realize that when scaling down designs, they do not keep the original flight characteristics.

I can't even imagine how hard it is to control something that fast and small. I've flown sailplanes and they are slow and stable and even so are very difficult. One has to be very damn skilled just to get up to the point of "sucking" at flying one of these jets I would imagine!

It probably takes a maestro to get it in the air, much less land one.

Can't you just hear the clamoring of the non-flying public to close flying fields of the noisy model airplanes that are such a HAZARD???? The pilot had pretty good control of the aircraft except that steep bank to final business.

If I can ever afford one of these, I'll remember not to retard throttle too much in pattern except for stabilized final leg.
