Good points, Obama's latest appointments is quite scary. He is completely dismantleing the protective apparatus Bush set up that allowed America to remain safe these last 7 years.
Unfortunately, it will produce a large attack on America before he realizes his mistakes.
To be honest with you Obama's security plan was on the O'reilly factor today. Not impressed. His CIA appointment could be worse than Clinton's. He wants to change the way we gather intelligence and believes that the FBI and CIA shouldn't share information. This led to the FBI not knowing about 10 killers and them almost all succeeding. ( this is obama's appointee I'm talking about now)
Yes obama can hire raham if he wants. I don't buy all the selling in the press about Rahm being a "moderate" democrat blah blah blah. In my free speech opinion all dems. are socialist. All this "moderate" "new democrats" is all a bunch of head games.
With all the appointments of politicians from Illinois, why not just move the Capitol to Chicago? - His honor da mayor (Daley) of the greatest city in da world (the peoples republic of Chicago) could help them raise money. He might even let those in congress who see things his way, miraculously have a few city contracts dropped on their desk, minus the customary pay to play fee. (and if you don't think Obama was part of this system you're ripe to be scammed yourself)
I agree, I'm sure Daley sent Rahm to keep on eye on Obama so he doesn't go haywire like Blago did. Speaking of Blago, when is he getting impeached? I already know Harry Reid won't seat Roland Burris. Its funny because after Blago got arrested Roland Burris was criticizing Blago saying he would never accept an appointment from him to the Senate, but what does he do?
Rahm emanuel was also on the board of directors of "federal home loan mortgage Corp" or
Freddi mac which is partially responsible for this economic crisis.
On the night after the 1996 election, "Emanuel was so angry at the president's enemies that he stood up at a celebratory dinner with colleagues from the campaign, grabbed a steak knife and began rattling off a list of betrayers, shouting 'Dead! ... Dead! ... Dead!' and plunging the knife into the table after every name
I believe most congressmen including obama himself should be arrested for multiple counts of purgery. I'm sick of Illinois politics (I'm from Illinois), and I'm sick of the gov't overstepping it's bounds.
how is what I said disrespectful? These congressmen take a vow to uphold the constitution, and instead twist it, and rape it for political gain. I'm tired of it. The deserve a fair trial, but they do not deserve to hold their current positions.
It is an interesting choice. With his father who was part of a militant Zionist group and Rahm writing in his believing in a compulsory service. And his ties with Freddie Mac. he certainly seems unpredictable and complex individual. It certainly is a "wait and see" situation
I do not like liberals either i choose to express my opinion intelligently so people don't think of me like some guy who doesn't know what he's talking about because he can't talk about it cleanly.
for me, its not about disliking liberals, afterall we are Americans first, but rather a dislike of their perspectives. The more radical or extreme they govern, the more reckless it appears.
Well I guess that's how I meant to phrase it. Although I do stand behind President Bush I do admit he was not the greatest at most things but at others he was. Also can I get your opinion on the fact that if Palin was to become Vice President people in Washington would not like her because of the fact she doesn't seem to be a usual corrupt member of our government and would try to get rid of all the pork barrel stuff from our bills so politicians will not be benefiting there own pockets.
Obama seems to be picking through the democrats who have served under a former President. As such, Obama can only look back to the Clinton Admin. the last Dem to serve as President was the 1 term Carter served 30+ years ago. A good leader needs to assemble and balance Experience and "New Thought" to succeed. It would be nice to see Obama select more Republicans, but that will never happen.
All this channel asks is for GOOD CLEAN discussion and debate. No profanity and non-civil activities. And by the way, did you leave the barackobamadotcom channel the same comment throughout this election cylce? In your Words: "...you better let people comment" Barackobamadotcom did not.
i'm not sure what obama's thinking in choosing emanuel. i know the rahm has the experience obama lacks, but it seems like obama is trying to take a clinton approach so far. he's nearly emulating the clinton administration. he's trying to take out all of bush's policies, has been very close to the clintons since the election was winding down, and even says that he liked clinton's policies.
actually, emulating isn't the right word. he's more or less trying to make it seem that bush was never president and bill was in control for the past 16 years. he's basically taking the presidency back to 1999, but with a couple of spins added in. is what i'm saying make any sense?
I think he may be trying to re-visit the booming economy of the 1990's. BUT, some of this was due to Reagan's ecnomic policies, and some was falsely enhanced to keep the market alive by flooding the market with easy cash.
Clinton built a house of cards that only recently came crashing down this year.
Remember, our economy is like a large ship, it can only be turned very slowly. Obama has his work cut out.
that's the thing that frightens me. obama seems to think that clinton was the only reason the economy was good at the time. he has the mindset that if we go back to the way things were, everything will be fine. he won't get it through his head that when a president leaves, he brings his results forward, mainly on the economy. it's sorta like those kids you see in movies that, after their parents die, they quickly rearrange everything in hopes that when the setting goes, so will everything else
Oops, I meant to reply to one of Lemony's comments and accidentally removed it. It was about Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. Anyway, it's hard to say how Hillary would fall, she knows the issues, she's a tough cookie, but she's a real snake too.
Clinton?! It is obvious that the CLINTONS have tired and disgusted many folks here at home. However, Internationally the Clintons are respected still and have "SuperStar" qualities. She (if appointed) will influence the President-Elect but would not get the final word/decision. who would be on your short list for sec of state?
Most presidents appoint a familiar face as chief of staff; this may not just be about Chicago politics. This wasn't necessarily a bad decision on Obama's part. Emanuel is known for being tough, though I have read that he's mellowed a lot since the dead fish incident. (The fish thing sounds like something my dad would've done, so it made me laugh even if I don't approve.) I think it helps religious conservatives because Rahm supported the Iraq invasion; he's Jewish - somewhat loyal to Israel.
Nice points! For me, I've been very concerned about Israel since the election. However, his selection of Emanuel is a good sign for Israel. But again, Chief of Staff does not dictate policy.
Even if the CoS doesn't dictate policy, he can advise to the president. As I understand it, he will supervise the key White House staff. I've read that the CoS is the second most powerful position in DC, so knowing what motivates him is important.
The Federal Reserve is the central tool used by the Rothschilds to steal the labor and wealth from the American people. This wealth is then used to finance the international bankers' plans for their World Government.
I am wondering how Obama and Emanuel will work together after Obama becomes President? It seems as if Emanuel is a very agressive person. Also will Emanuel be a blocker with Nancy Pelosi and Obama I sure hope so. I think this will become a problem.
heheheh i am with Emanuel to be the Blocker. Everything his character stands for, Pelosi is not. This woman pushes the wrong buttons with me... she loves to agitate... it seems. perhaps RahmBO wins this by KO!
Interesting point - certainly Rahm has been Nancy Pelosi's right hand in Congress. You may be right. Or he'll use Emanuel to control Pelosi in Congress.
cont.....Honestly? I'm not even sure what duties come with the job title, other than perhaps being a straw boss for the administration. Obama on the other hand? I know more about what no one knows about him than I do know. And yet he's our new President.
At least when we get the whole line up we'll get to know plenty about them all. You can count on that!
They vary to some degree, but the Chief of Staff is the go to guy for the President. It is the Chief of Staff that is responsible for implementing the President's agenda. He works specifically with Congress, the Cabinet, and the advisors.
I'm not sure about everyone else, but I'm still waiting to see all of Obama's choices and how he sets up camp. I don't know enough about Emmanuel to make any calls, although I've been hearing a lot about how tough he is.
U.S. President-elect Barack Obama's chief of staff Rahm Emanuel apologized to an Arab-American group on Thursday for comments disparaging Arabs made by his father.
Personally I think it's a desperate attempt to give Chicago politicians the upper hand, although they don't stand much of a chance at getting the votes of dedicated members of the aviation community after what they did to Miegs Field.
Well for one thing Rahm Emanuel thinks like most people do we should get out of Iraq. I know he does care for the troops and has said they've accomplished everything set before them. But he has advocated not understanding why we stay there now that Saddam is gone. My answer is simple to him. As we speak our troops are helping a people take control and bring their own stability to their nation. Civil war should be avoided because the best form of government was just established.
It seems (perhaps) that Emanuel's fiber is set to run for President one day. He is now front and center w/i the Obama Admin. A possible opportunity for his persona to win future votes. I dont see obama/emanuel keeping their campaign promise. WE KNOW the good job being done in Iraq and a premature withdrwal would hinder any progresses
For another thing I live just outside of Chicago and all I can say is tax and spend Democrats. I'm glad here in the 6th district we reelected Peter Roskam. He in my opinion is the opposite of corrupt Chicago politics. I feel Emanuel is to far to the left with asking what government can do for you. When its really asking my pay stub. And that's just it this particular republic was never meant to be this way.
Thanks, its nice to have Direct-Chicago input here. Whats not corrupt these days. The Obama Camp pledges CHANGE WE NEED. It will be interesting on how they will address change despite the Political background they hail from. Lets call it the "ObamaTriangle". OBAMA at the top with Axelrod and Emanuel completing the other angles. the Chicagoans
the 911 conspirators (in my point of view) are basically the same people who just call the government "the man". they're irrelevant, but hard to not find
We found your comment Legally "not profane" but does encroach our channel policy, with that said:
1 Thanks for the visit.
2 whats with all that angst for Rahm Emanuel (EM) So early in the game???
3 "tagging" one's Race Color ethnicity are somewhat "prehistoric" these days ...in this channel's opinion.
4 Why are you attaching EM to Terrorists, and the Lair, Obama' vital statistics, British Corp-September 11th 2001 relation,Enslaving Americans and civil service and illegal wars for...
its just sometimes my youtube page doesnt list the comments in the proper order. its just to find it quicker. "futuraM" is just short for spelling out your whole name... i guess i am getting a little lazy---
I agree with you 100%. for a safe, happy and prosperous "household", one must have a secure perimeter to allow our home(land)to LIVE FREELY. Now is the time for the new President to turn his words into action and his thoughts to be filled with the Red, Blue and Independent philosophy of ALL of America... even if it means reconsidering his Original beliefs. God Bless our Armed Services!
to speculate further, Saddam would have been in the position to gain the notoriety of his regional Islamic PEERS. It is understood that Saddam was one of, if not the most "western" in Domestic-idealogy of all Islamic Nations... With Emmanuel's roots and understanding of that region, his views will come into play in assisting the President-Elect. Time will soon enough tell.
hmmmm its interesting, because Iraq is a regional neighbor of Israel... the related proximity is that of NY to PA. So at this point Regional Security, in the interest of Israel might be on the table...?
Rahm Emmanuel is a former captain in the Israeli army. He also supported the Iraq invasion.
As a "liberal" and Clinton critic I don't like his partisan attitude, but his job is to be a tough office manager for Obama. Obama is smart in his choices so far, IMO. He knows he needs a strong figure in this post.
telegrarhDOTcoDOTuk confirms Emmanuel "took a break from politics during the 1991 Gulf War, volunteering as a mechanic on an army base in Israel. It was on his return that he joined the presidential primary campaign of Bill Clinton, then the Governor of Arkansas. It was to prove the move that launched his national political career." thanks
Interesting. I don't blame Obama for selecting one from his own party. It is a smart move on his behalf. A smart move for this country....I don't know.
Yes it is interesting to say the least. Also it seems Emmanuel has rich Family Values instilled within as He was quoted saying "thankful that both my parents were alive to see their son succeed". is this all a good thing? we will see
But what we have seen with the President Elect during his campaign run, he seems to be able to cut and denounce his life long affiliations... Rev Wright. Perhaps with Public and or Media pressure Emmanuel will also be written off should he stray. After all No President wants anyone under their hire to OUTSHINE them.
"After all, no president wants anyone under their hire to outshine them."
I was being sardonic given the plight of Mrs Palin and the recent campaign staffer issues. When you spoke about Obama cutting off affiliations, it seemed ironically similar to the McCain campaign and Palin. As I read your comment, I thought of her before I thought of Emmanuel.
The President-Elect has the right to choose whoever he wants to fill his cabinet. I am sure that he chose his friend Rahm because he trusts him and his ability to get things done. Give the guy a chance before you pass judgement on his selections. Rahm will follow the President-Elects lead. Remember that just because they don't give in to every whim of the right, doesn't mean they aren't going to try to work with the other side.
He earned a White House political job with his brash, stellar fundraising performance in the Clinton campaign of 1991-92. His appointment confirms centrism and caution as policy for Clinton's second term. By comparison, Stephanopoulos was a quiet liberal (whom Emmanuel replaced)
At this point, it is entirely propoer for Obama to move forward with assembling his transition team so he can hit the ground running.
So far, he appears to be moving towards the center on economic issues. Foreign issues is another matter. but it is comforting that Rahm Emanuel is Jewish!
I think the fact that Raham is jewish is one of the main reason why Obama selected him. He had too showed too the Jewish Americans and the Nation of Israel, that he is willing stand and fight for Israel if she is treated by Syria or Iran.
During the Clinton Admin, Emmanuel orchestrated the Rose Garden signing ceremony (after the Oslo Accords with the Israelis and the Palestine Liberation Organization). Also he arranged the famous handshake between Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat.
is he foriegn. Well obviosly we all are but the name. Just curiose. I dont know much about him but if anyone wants to inform me on who he is then id appriciate it very much. Like his views on subjects. I am very curiose about all of this
This is a good question, Rahm Emanuel, is JEWISH! Which for most of us conservatives is very comforting - we've been concerned about Obama's friendshp with Israel.
So I was happy about the selection, although Rahm Emanual is a very tough guy who can't say two sentences without throwing in a profane word.
Dude, I'm pretty sure him picking a Jew has nothing to do with his friendship with Israel. I don't trust it. He is totally getting in all of his buddies into the White House so he can pull off his grand master plan
In the past that certainly has been true, which is why Clinton didn't trust him. Do you think Obama knows what he's doing? Or did he pick Rahm Emanuel simply because he's from Chicago?
Rahm and the rest of his family need to be watched.

Ok, you are throwing to many talking points at one time. Sorry.
I recall seeing your comments Supporting President Elect Obama through this election cycle. so whats the gripes about.
Lets work on one talking point at a time. Why do you believe --- How do you know September 11th 2001 was a conspiracy? This is puzzling.
thanks
theobamafactor 3 years ago
the 911 conspirators (in my point of view) are basically the same people who just call the government "the man". they're irrelevant, but hard to not find

Time will soon enough tell.
theobamafactor 3 years ago
hmmmm its interesting, because Iraq is a regional neighbor of Israel... the related proximity is that of NY to PA.

Wow, fascintating, I didn't kow this!
I gotta say, I think Bush made some very poor choices of people around him. I also think he should have listened more to Powell.

telegrarhDOTcoDOTuk confirms Emmanuel "took a break from politics during the 1991 Gulf War, volunteering as a mechanic on an army base in Israel.

4Hfarmgirl 3 years ago
Yes it is interesting to say the least. Also it seems Emmanuel has rich Family Values instilled within as He was quoted saying "thankful that both my parents were alive to see their son succeed". is this all a good thing? we will see

so much for Obama reaching out to conservatives

But what we have seen with the President Elect during his campaign run, he seems to be able to cut and denounce his life long affiliations... Rev Wright. Perhaps with Public and or Media pressure Emmanuel will also be written off should he stray. After all No President wants anyone under their hire to OUTSHINE them.
theobamafactor 3 years ago
*second take* You're talking about Emmanuel and Obama, not McCain and Palin, right?
batesm 3 years ago
sorry batesm, i am trying to get a point of reference to your comment, what do you mean? thanks
theobamafactor 3 years ago

You are very correct and that's a very astute statement.

Thanks... the NewRepublic cited back on
3 February 1997:
He earned a White House political job with his brash, stellar fundraising performance in the Clinton campaign of 1991-92. His appointment confirms centrism and caution as policy for Clinton's second term. By comparison, Stephanopoulos was a quiet liberal (whom Emmanuel replaced)

At this point, it is entirely propoer for Obama to move forward with assembling his transition team so he can hit the ground running.
So far, he appears to be moving towards the center on economic issues. Foreign issues is another matter. but it is comforting that Rahm Emanuel is Jewish!
theobamafactor 3 years ago

I am very curiose about all of this
hottiejonasluvr 3 years ago
This is a good question, Rahm Emanuel, is JEWISH! Which for most of us conservatives is very comforting - we've been concerned about Obama's friendshp with Israel.
So I was happy about the selection, although Rahm Emanual is a very tough guy who can't say two sentences without throwing in a profane word.
theobamafactor 3 years ago
Dude, I'm pretty sure him picking a Jew has nothing to do with his friendship with Israel. I don't trust it. He is totally getting in all of his buddies into the White House so he can pull off his grand master plan

i heard from Dick Morris that Raum is in buisness for Raum
levibg93 3 years ago
In the past that certainly has been true, which is why Clinton didn't trust him. Do you think Obama knows what he's doing? Or did he pick Rahm Emanuel simply because he's from Chicago?

yes

Ya a total partisan hack, reminds me of a Democrat Karl Rove, it probably is a move to bring the Chicago political machine into Washington.

Rahm is definatly in business for Rahm. What benefits Rahm is what Rahm votes for, not what benefits America or the people.
