Okay, the guy that stiffed you.... were the funds in your account and clear with no restrictions? I am a "Top-Rated Seller" with Ebay, 100% pos. and over 300 trades and I know somethimes Paypal can "hold" money for a time before it's really considered yours, but not often, and I don't think they can take money back once it has "cleared". In all my trades 95% me selling, I have not been ripped off so you must really have some bad luck, or it's your listing style, or the type of item attracts..
Fortunately I've been well satisfied for the past couple of years buying from Ebay. Of course I can't speak for everyone else that has been taken in one way or another by merchant. Most of the merchants that I've had dealings with a very honest, and just trying too make a living and to please their customers, as I'm sure you are. But in a way it's funny when you think that the merchants are scamming the customers, when in fact the scam artist are doing it to the merchants.
ok so next time wait until you physically have the cash in your hand! not in some paypal account, not in your bank account, THEN! you can even wait 2 or 3 days to make sure nothing bounces....Whats the rush? your not dishonest right? when every things clear then you mail your item. This isn't surprising. eBay seems to be anti-buyer now. In my last five auctions, two have claimed "unauthorized use of computer" as the reason for their bid and the other was an international seller from Romania trying to get me to sell him the item outside of eBay. It's ridiculous.
The biggest problem is that the detailed seller ratings fuck low level sellers over since your 'seller ranking' is almost SOLELY based on the number of low ratings (the overall rating requirement is so low that it is irrelevant)...two 'revenge negs' from some scammers, then maybe one or two bullshit negs/neutral from impatient idiots who refuse to work with you, and all of a sudden you're 'below standard'. It's too much about luck since it all averages out for big time sellers.
Yeah i'v been selling some stuff on Ebay lately and out of about 15 items about 2 haven't paid. Some people actually will pay and then leave negative feedback for no reason and they wont answer what the problem was i hate it.
ty ebay is a joke i bought an item on ebay, and the guy send me a broken unit. he said "it must have been damaged in shipping,and it i should file a claim with ups" i said that i would not file a claim with ups for a box delivered in good condition. the glass parts were undamaged, but the metal part was broken. not possible if the box had been dropped.

I had 0 feedback the first time i bought, that doesn't mean anything because it just depends on how your taking the payment, next time don't use gaypay and use paypal because the buyer has to pay before you send the item and they can't just ask for a refund unless they show paypal proof.

I dont see how somone bidding on an item and then not being able to pay is a scam, thats just somone being stupid. ive only even had one problem with a buyer in them past, they bought the item and paid for it, i sent it, they send me a message saying thank you, its great etc,... and then they open a case against me for then item not being recieved and he wanteed a refund!! i had to call ebay, email them and go on the live chat thing AND contact the buyer who then said he hadnt had it!
And if you ever have to deal with Paypal problems just ask for a senior agent, the regular agents don't care and don't even have a clue what going on. Get problems resolve in a week instead of months.
Call their credit card company, and fax them over prove that it wasn't a stolen creditcard and he has done this to a few people, I had someone try this on me before and call, took a couple of weeks, but they reverse the chargeback got my money back and put that person account under investigation.

I bought a hat for 15 bucks, the shipping was 10.99 and the bid for the hat $2; totalled to about 15 bucks CAD. Anywho I really didn't kno why this dude would sell a hat for 2 bucks but I ended up paying for it because case was opened against me. He had pretty positive feedback, people who bought similar stuff for less. Anyway the shipping said it'll ship 1 day, and it's been 3 weeks... I opened a case against him, but he said it's comin; but tracking id said USPS didn't get it yet from him.. :(
Idrk what propal is but w/e it is paypal is much better.. It's secure and keeps people from doing that... I've sold hundreds of sportcards and haven't had anything like that happen... Anyways goodluck with that guy:)

my scamming experiance: the other day some lady bid on an electronic device won it she had 0 feed back but she paid right away so i send it off to her she gets it first she seys it dosnt work at all then she seys it works only on the charger i tested it before it left so im like ok send it back for a refund i get it back refund her and then i realize the batterys been swapped with a dead no name battery pack and apparently acourding to ebay shes done nothing wrong.
HI, There are ways of avoiding scams in the first place .If you spent half as much time thinking about what they might be instead of wasting your energy complaining on you tube you might not find yourself in this unfortunate position in the first place. I don't know how you feel because I'm only a buyer on ebay and not a seller. But from what I'm seeing, it appears that both buyer and seller are at risk whenever dealing with somebody on ebay.
An example would be, I just bought an item off ebay for $50. I paid on time, and the seller has NOT shipped my item yet. He also doesn't respond to any of my emails, and this guy has 98% positive feedback.
So I opened a dispute with paypal, and I'm waiting for my money to come back.

I am really sorry what happened to you, I had been in the same situation as you. I had bought my item from some Chinese seller and he sent me counterfeit item's and I was really mad by the time the item arrived it was too late to put up a dispute so to cover my damage I had no choice but to sell it to someone else, I didn't wanted to but I was in crisis.
I just want to say be careful who you deal with only sell to buyers with over 50 feedback's.

Chargeback fees are 100% pure profit for merchant account providers (and alternatives like paypal and propay). They aren't charged this fee by the banks like they claim, they just charge it to merchants. If a merchant account provider (and alternatives like paypal and propay) charges a chargeback fee, then they also do everything they can to encourage chargeback fees including many will delay two months before they tell merchants about the chargebacks.
I was one of 28 people that bought a star wars lego millennium falcon, he sold each one of them for around $600 not includin postage, he sed it will take 3 weeks max, so 1 week goes thats fine, then 2 weeks thats ok, i then had i feeling if it was gonna show up at all after 3 and a half weeks it didnt i left the guy a message, and guess wat he never sent any of them.. i did get my money back after 5 weeks and because of all this he because un unregisted ebayer.
a similar thing happened to me just today, after 1 month of waiting, i called ebay to get my $101 back from a scammer. they gave me "site credit" for $101 which is fine cause i buy alot. the scammer has a feedback of -4
Yea I had the same kind of problem today on ebay. I sell quite abit of items on ebay. and i sold a printer to a guy in washington state and he paid then i shipped out the printer asap. he left positive feedback then today i checked paypal and the money that he sent for the payment was reversed to him so i called paypal and told them but luckily the transferred me the money.
Have you ever tried bonanzle(.)com. The traffic there seems to be picking up quite a bit. Just browsed around a few categories with good results. Better then compared to just a few months ago. I think if we all pitch in and just list five items on this site i think it will grow. They are only 100,000 sales away from ebay. Lets all stick ebay where it hurts the most and just forget about them. Check it out for yourself .

A federal and criminal offense was committed against you crazeenydriver, which is mail fraud and theft. I would first contact the buyer via phone (request info from eBay). Tell him/her the situation and tell them to either send your item back to or to pay the $105.00 + propay fee. If buyer doesn't cooperate file a PS Form 8165 with USPS stating you were robbed of $120.00. Then call the buyer's local police and file a report for investigation. Keep on it until you get your money or item back.
But try to get a corrupt govy, and corrupt courts, to do something about corrupt Ebay. CNYD is trying to do a public service, putting out warning for the BUYER and SELLER to beware when using ebay. I use ebay with caution as a buyer. But I have not sold anything on ebay for nearly two years. But the internet is very risky and ebay tried to make it safer for its buyers, moreso then the sellers. When dealing with the public, you cannot escape RISK! But the govy is full of crooks too.
I would still file a police report for theft because you're out of $120.00 and your item. And the buyer needs to cough your money or your product. And at the same time cont. to follow up with the case with propay and the credit card company as much as you can!
The sad thing about this is that eBay, instead of taking this as a good example to how bad things can get, actually had the gals to blame THE SELLER for not taking precautions to make sure the bidders were all authorized! Is it to much to expect that someone who places a bid will pay? Real auction houses have legal people standing by to make sure bidding buyers pay for their stuff eventually.

This isn't surprising. eBay seems to be anti-buyer now. In my last five auctions, two have claimed "unauthorized use of computer" as the reason for their bid and the other was an international seller from Romania trying to get me to sell him the item outside of eBay. It's ridiculous.

The biggest problem is that the detailed seller ratings fuck low level sellers over since your 'seller ranking' is almost SOLELY based on the number of low ratings (the overall rating requirement is so low that it is irrelevant)...two 'revenge negs' from some scammers, then maybe one or two bullshit negs/neutral from impatient idiots who refuse to work with you, and all of a sudden you're 'below standard'. It's too much about luck since it all averages out for big time sellers.

I dont see how somone bidding on an item and then not being able to pay is a scam, thats just somone being stupid. ive only even had one problem with a buyer in them past, they bought the item and paid for it, i sent it, they send me a message saying thank you, its great etc,... and then they open a case against me for then item not being recieved and he wanteed a refund!! i had to call ebay, email them and go on the live chat thing AND contact the buyer who then said he hadnt had it!

Call their credit card company, and fax them over prove that it wasn't a stolen creditcard and he has done this to a few people, I had someone try this on me before and call, took a couple of weeks, but they reverse the chargeback got my money back and put that person account under investigation.

Anywho I really didn't kno why this dude would sell a hat for 2 bucks but I ended up paying for it because case was opened against me. He had pretty positive feedback, people who bought similar stuff for less. Anyway the shipping said it'll ship 1 day, and it's been 3 weeks... I opened a case against him, but he said it's comin; but tracking id said USPS didn't get it yet from him.. :(

I don't know how you feel because I'm only a buyer on ebay and not a seller. But from what I'm seeing, it appears that both buyer and seller are at risk whenever dealing with somebody on ebay.
An example would be, I just bought an item off ebay for $50. I paid on time, and the seller has NOT shipped my item yet. He also doesn't respond to any of my emails, and this guy has 98% positive feedback.
So I opened a dispute with paypal, and I'm waiting for my money to come back.

Remember that record collection? Took over a week for the media to catch on it was bogus.
ebay knew it was fraud within literally minutes of the listing end yet failed to notify the press before the very 1st article was published.

I am really sorry what happened to you, I had been in the same situation as you. I had bought my item from some Chinese seller and he sent me counterfeit item's and I was really mad by the time the item arrived it was too late to put up a dispute so to cover my damage I had no choice but to sell it to someone else, I didn't wanted to but I was in crisis.
I just want to say be careful who you deal with only sell to buyers with over 50 feedback's.

Chargeback fees are 100% pure profit for merchant account providers (and alternatives like paypal and propay). They aren't charged this fee by the banks like they claim, they just charge it to merchants. If a merchant account provider (and alternatives like paypal and propay) charges a chargeback fee, then they also do everything they can to encourage chargeback fees including many will delay two months before they tell merchants about the chargebacks.

I sell quite abit of items on ebay. and i sold a printer to a guy in washington state and he paid then i shipped out the printer asap. he left positive feedback then today i checked paypal and the money that he sent for the payment was reversed to him so i called paypal and told them but luckily the transferred me the money.

Have you ever tried bonanzle(.)com. The traffic there seems to be picking up quite a bit. Just browsed around a few categories with good results. Better then compared to just a few months ago. I think if we all pitch in and just list five items on this site i think it will grow. They are only 100,000 sales away from ebay. I'm a pissed-off ebayer who lives in Canada with a 1400+ positive feedback rating going back to the Glory Years of ebay in 1999/2000.
Some of these scumbag OVERSEAS bidders (Usually in Europe and Asia) have given guys like me, your "next door neighbor", a prejudicial bad name.
Hope when you say "international" you're not lumping-in the GOOD Canadian and Australian bidders.

I see payal as ebays answers to the scam problems they had and still have. I dont know what you can do. Its all sounds horrible. ProPay sounds no better and your vids are the 1st time I have heard of it.

I'm an occasional buyer who used to do a little selling on eBay circa 2000 when it was still a friendly community marketplace. I was giving some thought to selling again, but after what I've been seeing today on YouTube, I'm reconsidering. On the subject of deadbeats, what's eBay doing to protect buyers against sellers of pirated movies? I filed a complaint, but got no response from eBay.

Hea NY guy there are scammers everywhere. Almost all the people from New York are scammers let alone most all elected officials are scammers. Do you watch the news? You complain about all these companies eBay,PayPal,ProPay that scam you,when will you wake up and realize maybe you should learn to protect yourself???? A federal and criminal offense was committed against you crazeenydriver, which is mail fraud and theft. I would first contact the buyer via phone (request info from eBay). Tell him/her the situation and tell them to either send your item back to or to pay the $105.00 + propay fee. If buyer doesn't cooperate file a PS Form 8165 with USPS stating you were robbed of $120.00. Then call the buyer's local police and file a report for investigation. Keep on it until you get your money or item back.

But try to get a corrupt govy, and corrupt courts, to do something about corrupt Ebay. CNYD is trying to do a public service, putting out warning for the BUYER and SELLER to beware when using ebay. I use ebay with caution as a buyer. But I have not sold anything on ebay for nearly two years. But the internet is very risky and ebay tried to make it safer for its buyers, moreso then the sellers. When dealing with the public, you cannot escape RISK! But the govy is full of crooks too.

I would still file a police report for theft because you're out of $120.00 and your item. And the buyer needs to cough your money or your product. And at the same time cont. to follow up with the case with propay and the credit card company as much as you can!

The sad thing about this is that eBay, instead of taking this as a good example to how bad things can get, actually had the gals to blame THE SELLER for not taking precautions to make sure the bidders were all authorized! Is it to much to expect that someone who places a bid will pay? Real auction houses have legal people standing by to make sure bidding buyers pay for their stuff eventually.

who needs to go to Vegas or Atlantic city to gamble, just go on ebay! I just bid on an item with a seller that just signed up this month, and has zero FB. I will not bid over 20$. But I feel like I am gambling, there also are bad sellers on ebay too. But this guy looks OK so far, I'll let ya know IF I win what happened.
