I don't understand why people say not buy feeder fish! I bought four a year ago and they are still alive and have grown really big!! They only cost me 56 cents.
@blackkittys668 whatever you do when you see those fish, do not buy them. The hearts and spots are not drawn on, they are actually injected with a needle, alot like a tattoo. The pain is excruciating for the fish and reduces their life span significatly because it is not a substance their bodies can normally handel. Nature was not meant to be tampered with. Don't buy these fish, please like to the top so other people can see this :(
Well there feeder fish and they keep them crowed to be easy to grab a lot. you shouldn't keep feeder fish as pets because their expose to disease and sickness .like I saw a feeder fish tank and there was dead and sick fish. So find a pet shop that has healthy goldfish in a tank with space
It's sad that goldfish can live for like 15 years, but they're so overlooked that they rarely do. This is a prime example. :/. Unless you were looking in the feeder tank.
It's gotten to the point where I want a healthy goldfish, I must get the fancy kind. These common ones are left in poor conditions, but the thing is, I much prefer the look of these common ones to keep as pets
If you buy the smaller ones. They have a better chance since they get better care afterwards. I have three comets and they are now the size of the bigger ones sold at stores but are much healthier and perky
Yesterday morning, I saw the coolest comet with the feeders. The fish was orange & white but had perfect orange spots on the side of his face like he was blushing. I told my mother & she said to go back for him.
I went back but they restocked! There was about 100 in that tank! I was ready to turn around and out of no where the rosey cheeked comet swam right up to me "Please!! Get me out of here now!!" Sherbet is happily enjoying my aquarium with another comet and minnow.
Funny since most of em' die quick due to being eaten, overcrowding (disease and low oxygen) yet there are some that live to be old and grow huge! Perfect example of Probability and Statistics!
thats because these goldfish are not pet. they re food for cichlids and big aggressive. duurrhhhh. thats why they re common and cheap .hence te name common goldfish for 12c.

The ones in Hong Kong aren't even tanks, most of the time, they are just giant buckets with an airline in it and no lid so the fish jump out often

That is really terrible. That just leads to disease and unhealthy fish..along with early death in some cases.

luck those fish go fast. but to way to small of tanks. like little one gallon bowls and they die a week later. or to big fish's bellies.
