my rudders get stuck down and to lift them you must push the plunger down with a tiny screwdriver. Do you have any suggestions to fix this? even when lubricated it doesn't seem to help.

Our entire rudder assembly is very loose... is there anyway to make the whole system a bit tighter, without over-tightening the bolts attaching the castings to the rudder? We can't easily "kick-up" the rudders by hand when the bolts are tight.
To tighten your rudders up in the casting, go to the hardware store and buy some nylon washers, the bigger the better, and stick them in between the casting and the rudder. Don't overtighten the bolt, it may crack the casting. Hope that helps!

What did you use for a new tensioner screw after you re-threaded the hole?

The stock Hobie screw. We basically just cleaned up the threads.
