Peter, thanks for watching. I've been sidetracked (pleasantly) from the "Return of Grog" project by my work on finishing FOREST STORY - which I'm still fiddleing with. I'll be getting back to the new HD project this year though.
@DirectorACL Bob the Nightbeast and the Deadly Spawn Mama creature moved to New York City years ago where they now share an apartment in Greenwich Village. Due to the poor economy, neither of them can find steady work. Bob was recently spotted jogging in Central Park. Both of them kill tourists on weekends.
I remember reading about your work in cinemagic magazine. I admire your effort to create again and can't wait to see more. I wish I could help out! Are any of your other stop motion films online?
Re "Awsome camera setups" - It's amazing to hear that because the entire video was shot with my Iphone. Some of the camera moves were added with the editing software. Thank you!
@pen15envy Oh yes, Brian Berkey is putting an amazing linear motion rig for animating moving camera shots. I'll post another clip of the rig on the stop-motion site when it's finished.
@animatorIsomer Yes, completion estimates can be difficult - and I think that I may have already become a victim of "Isomer's Bain": "Never do anything simply if there is a more complicated way to do it".

oh, wow! those armatures!
cartoonmarc 1 year ago
@cartoonmarc Yes, the armatures seen in the video are by Jeff Taylor - a talented
machinist. Other armatures in the new Grog film are lower tech, although I find that a carefully made wire armature can be first rate.

@axis3d Thanks Kevin. Some of my animation will be on Youtube later this year.
Your demo reel is terrific and I also enjoyed your polished "Primordial Soup" a lot. Thanks for checking in!

Grog was a very big influence on me when I was young. Nice to see that John Dods is still at it.

love it. the music reminds me of the theme from "creature features". kinda sorta lol

@bobharling1 Yes, very hyper-melodramatic in feeling - much in the style of
a 50's genre film music track. The piece is from Michael Perilstein's cd "Elephants
Gliding on Ice". Mike saw elephants, but I saw dinosaurs.

I'm really excited about this! But just a YEAR? Did you forget the rule about doubling your estimates? :)
