Obama has really destroyed his own reelection chances by saying things like this 4 years ago, and now more than likely will lose to the Republican candidate. Whoever it is would be a much better Commander and Chief than Obama. People may like him, but liking someone doesn't mean that person is fit for the job and that's why these republican candidates are under the microscope.

There are several problems with the responses I'm reading. 1). Bush did this several times during his presidency, its just that no one raised a fuss. 2). This is clearly a problem with both parties, its not like Obama is doing anything differently or worse.

Obama isn't a liberal. I am, and I happen to have a decent amount of respect for libertarians. If you don't understand this, you are probably a neo-con, which means you are part of the problem.

@transhumean During Bush's terms, except for the last year and the first, there was consistent economic growth. Obama is definitely doing worse, in that he walked into a horrible situation and has done nothing for the private sector, in terms of creating a positive business environment, and put the wildly expensive healthcare plan in place.

See, when Obama was doing this speech, he was thinking, that He can be more unpatriotic than Bush and can spend $4 trillion or more in less time than 8 years. Or, Obama thought it was a spending compitition and thought spending $4 trillion was not enough and was unpatriotic to spend so little in such a short time so he's gonna out spend Bush and win the spending game.
