I love death metal, heavy metal and even I know that music is all interpretation and opinion. Apparently Keane has struck a nerve and found a niche regardless of how distasteful it is to some. Some people think Zeppelin sucks, tool sucks and on and on. As far as simple i agree it is simple. It's not Symphony X or DT. But, who cares?? Pink Floyd wrote a song called WIsh you were here and it is not technical and it is a great song.

You're rather attached to your distaste for Keane, apparently. I like this song, and although somewhat generic, I feel like it reaches higher than most tracks of similar nature. Devin Townsend is talented, but you can't discredit Keane simply based on the fact that it's not the same genre as your preferred heavy metal.

I'm American and live in the USA...I can't stand The Killers...their sound is wayyy too 80's punk for me to listen to...but, Keane I really like!! I love Spiralling!! Although this is the first time I've heard of this UK band, I love their sound...I wish I would have known about them much earlier. They're like U2 with a pop sound--I love it!! And the lead singer's voice is more pop than The Killers' lead singer, which is more my taste anyway. I'm now a Keane fan!
